Tobin's Brat Camp - Part 1 has been getting lots of stars. but so far no comments. Doesn't anyone have anything to say about it?

Late to the party here again... I keep not having time to read, saving the link to read later, then forgetting to read it later! Gah. Finally got to Part 1 of this one.

I'm looking forward to more of this, to say the least. It's great to see you stretch your wings with your last series, but who doesn't love a return to the classic themes? Not that this is derivative; I see a new tale here, just wearing some comfortable shoes that I happen to like, so to speak.

I see a potential here for some blindsiding, some trickery, a bit of temptation-towards-disaster for both brothers. Even though it seems clear Big Bro isn't just turned on by the possibility but probably wants it too, the same can't be said (yet) for his mini-me.

How hard, both blatantly and underhandedly psychologically, will both the Tobin employees and the campers who've been there a while work to make the brothers either err their way to a desexualized life, or, even more nefariously, make them ask for it? Would asking be considered a 'win' and earn some sort of bonus? I'd love it if they approached it incrementally to ease a younger into it, starting with medication only, then testicles, then 'why not the rest', then... ? Sort of a frog-in-slowly-boiling-water affair, not noticing the increase in temperature until it's too late...

Great start in part one.

I like how dad teases his son and then gets surprised and interested himself when his son shows real interest in the camp. Dad might need to join his sons in exploring his own deep desires ? Desires that got him teasing his oldest boy to begin with ?

I like hearing how his oldest son is brave enough to admit to his dad how he wants to go to this special camp. And how he is struggling with how to set up himself and his younger brother for unmanning, without admitting his plans to his dad.

Then its dad s turn to feel that fear and longing that his son has about going to the camp.

Fears and longings that so many men on here can feel and identify with.in this story.

A little strange, really the father does not guess motives of desire of the son to get to this camp. And can be knows and approves! Amusing way of education of bravery .

As a Grandmaster the father should understand the value of concentration and focus. I just hope we don't have to wait too much longer before seeing Part 2 posted so I can get to work on Part 3.

Sorry I haven't been able to get to your story before now. I've only just finished the first part.

Both the father and Kit seem a bit irrational to me. Kit knows he has an obsession, but wants to feed it and risk making it stronger, rather than try to go cold turkey or talk it over with someone. The father seems overly willing to let the son make a decision at twelve without knowing whether he really has thought about all the implications. Or maybe I haven't talked to fathers of tweens or tweens themselves much recently and that is all perfectly normal. Or maybe the father has an ulterior motive ...

I had a couple of thoughts for plot points or tension ... for this story or a future one, offered at no charge :

At camp Kit could meet up with an older guy nullified as a tween, maybe someone successful at business who takes a few weeks every summer to help out with the camp, maybe someone who had a "kink" similar to Kit's when he was a boy. That person could act as a guide to what is really going on at camp (at least to the readers), and Kit can have someone, finally, to talk to ...

At camp, some of the campers (maybe the pubertal ones, or some of them, or the ones who have constant erections) could receive a treatment that lasts six weeks past the end of camp, like a puberty blocker that neutralizes most of the testosterone currently in their systems and keeps their genitals from producing any more, and numbs their genitals and prevents erections. So they'd get to experience some of what it is like to be nullified, plus it would weaken their testosterone-driven urges and masturbatory fantasies (and keep them from walking around camp all day with a boner). I suppose while they are at it, the treatment could make body- and facial-hair drop out and stop growing. That wouldn't, of course, stop Tobin from throwing a surprise nullification party for them before camp ends ...

Kit could find out that Tobin's employs some intact men to help care for and train the boys in its care, and could decide that is something that would really appeal to him. So he signs up to be a counselor-in-training at camp and hangs out with staff, hoping eventually to become an apprentice and work for Tobin's full time. And of course, he could still get entrapped and nullified ...

All good suggestions. I like the one about Kit as a counselor-in-training at camp. I hadn't considered that.

Certainly the characters in my stories are irrational. I write about flawed humans with weird sexual predilections, not Star Trek Vulcans. And besides, who wants to read about normal people anyway?

At age 12 there wasn't anyone I could talk to about my interest in nullification. It was too unnatural and if I said anything about it I was afraid that I might be "sent away." Going cold turkey to "kick the habit" wasn't really an option as it was part of my sexual makeup. If such camps as Tobin's had existed then I don't know if I'd have gone or not. Probably not as I'd have been both too embarrassed and too frightened. But you can bet I'd have been tempted. I'd have spent sleepless nights wondering what when on in such places. The only "cure" I was able to find for my strange interest was writing about castration and in doing so letting those inner demons out.

Remember, Kit's dad is a GM. Compared to past greats such as Paul Morphy and Bobby Fischer he's positively normal. If I had a boy that was experiencing some of the same confusion as I went through I wouldn't ignore it in hopes that it would magically go away. I might let him explore his feeling at such a camp. Why knows?

Maybe these kinks are genetic and shared by men of different generations in the same family line ? Personal experience makes me think that a lot of these sexual kinks are shared by men genetically. If they wait long enough to have any kids to pass on their kinks, before they live out ttheir kinks.

And Kit's dad can be very occupied with the activity as GM. And Kit conforms to the known rule: "To overcome temptation - it is necessary to give in to it!"
