Probably a good alternative to Dr. Arnkoff.

I'm happy to have kicked that door open with this doctor 6 years ago.
You're welcome.

Good to know there is another option available. He looks like he doesn't do a whole lot of public speaking though.

I am not sure why the public speaking comment was relevant. This guy makes a lot of information available without having to spend a lot of money on consultations. Check out the YouTube videos he offers.
Doing castrations during a safe office visit without requiring someone to spend $2000 to $4000 for an operating room and anesthesiologist and being able to use a credit card is a huge step.
Dr. Arnkoff only does these in-office surgeries on Saturdays (with his daughter assisting) and requires a cashier's check or cash. I am sure his daughter has medical credentials. Maybe the transaction is under the table. We cannot say for sure. It's important not to bash Dr. Arnkoff. He is getting older (around age 76).
It's great that a doctor is making this feel more legitimate. Using a credit card to get hotel points is appreciated. Dr. Crane has a practice with seven physicians who do these surgeries.
Maybe it will encourage other doctors to consider this. I recently did a colonoscopy without anesthesia. It was not bad, and I was able to drive myself home after. The anesthesiologist seemed disappointed my insurance did not have to pay him $500. I avoided the day after drug hangover.
My orchiectomy facility/operating room fee was $2700, and the anesthesia was $800.

If anyone hasn't been aware of the chronology of safe, legal castration/nullification, I could write up a summary from about 1996 through today. Dr. Crane is significant in this. His offering is nothing new, but is fairly recent in the past 25 years of history.

My comment about public speaking was my gut reaction to the question, "would I feel comfortable going to this doctor for help?" He provide a lot of great information, but I didn't feel the bedside manner I hoped to get watching the video. Maybe he is better in person.
I am not good at calling people to ask questions or setup appointments, so I want someone who makes it easy.

They can't make it easy unless you reach out and contact them.

Dr Crane is one of the best physicians I've ever worked with who tells you the truth, does not make lite of your questions or fantasies, but offers suggestions about what could be done for you to realize your desires.
You do not like his speaking style? Would you more prefer a chatty guy who does something other than "good" work? Dr Arnkoff is a very nice guy but his surgical skills are very limited. His Daughter-in-law was off on maternity leave when I was there, so rather than get someone else to help, he did mine alone. The suture job on my scrotum was really scary and it took it month to heal up to where it wasn't weeping anymore.
Dr Crane's work can speak for itself with him being a certified Plastic Surgeon. He's very easy to talk to and when you have something more complicated like I did with a Genital Nullification, you even get his cellphone number and basically a direct line to Dr DeLeon who assists Dr Crane as well as being quite capable herself, although she works with an answering service, it took her less than ten minutes to get back to me the night I called her with some Foley catheter issues.
I had to get lined up with a Nursing home with RN's available for my post operative stay in Austin and THAT was a bad deal as well as expensive. Everything with Dr Cranes office went smooth as silk. I did have a hiccup with the receptionist who was charged with collecting the fee for the Hospital surgical facilities. She wanted it paid for immediately or we weren't proceeding. I had nothing personal with me let alone my wallet or CC's. Fortunately for me she said that if I knew the CC information and could give it to her, that would be okay. I do enough online ordering for my RC model airplane stuff I knew the number expiration date and the "Super Secret" thee digit code on the back of the card. Gave it to her and we were in business!
JMHO.

I did not like having a surgery center involved.
Without insurance, they were going to charge me $2700 (just for the facility fee - not including the doctor). With insurance, the fee with $3500. A week before my surgery, the center called and said the price is $7000 for the surgery center. I said that I called and asked how much a 90 minute session costs with the orchiectomy procedure code. They quoted me either $2700 to $3500. I asked why it's now suddenly $7000? She said it's because there are two testicles and that is the facility fee for each procedure.
Then, I had to talk to the insurance company. The lady told me that this is crazy. If you booked a foot procedure (both feet), they would quote a price for one facility fee. Not a facility fee for each foot. It was very uncomfortable to have these other people involved. It was $800 for the anesthesia.
This is good precedent that a major clinic will do this in office (if you want it that way). Having to pull in so many people for such a private matter is uncomfortable.
I am not impressed that Dr. Arnkoff makes it seem a little backroom by only accepting cash and doing it on Saturdays. If you have every watched professional doing the procedure, it takes four hands to make it efficient.

It worked out in the end for the lower cost. I hated having to tell all this stuff to a lady in some business office.
