I'm sure glad the doctor didn't suggest a more radical cure.

I'm surprised the solution wasn't, "You're not in Scotland anymore, and in America winkles don't wear kilts... So, you know what that means..."

I'm surprised that cutnbulls2ox hasn't had anything to say about this.

I remember the look of shock on a nurses face as she tried to put a catheter into my 5yo sons penis. It felt like a freak show! She called in a couple of other nurses because she had never catheterized an uncircumcised child. I actually had to tell her to just pull the foreskin back a little. She yanked it back making my son scream. I told her to leave and send the Dr. He inserted it whilst she observed. She actually told me that I should have my son circumsized to avoid any future problems.

Hey, I m hoping that means that people find my comments are worth reading and not that my comments are a pain to read ?
I ve been too busy with our Texas record cold and snow.
This dr has a very good series. I like him being relaxed and honest with his patients and not making them feel ashamed or guilty for having male sex organs ! His other videos are entertaining too. He picks brave kids and teens to do his videos.
I like how this video is so open and relaxed about discussing circumcision and penises. He is taking each male in the room into the discussion of who is circumcised and who is not. The dr s handsome, cameraman, adult, son is the only male showing any embarassment about discussing and disclosing his foreskin staus as uncut to everyone.
Why can t more males be this open about discussing circumcision with other males of all ages like this. I m surprised that boys this young even know that they are circumcised or not. Maybe the fathers being cut or uncut, obviously different and visually unlike the sons penises have made them more aware of circumcision at young ages than if the father s penises were matching the sons foreskins or lack of foreskins ?
This reminds me of a buddy teaching his young son that all males have testicles one day. His son was doing belly flops off a pool driving board with his legs spread wide open and landing splat on his balls ! But with no indication of any nut pain from it. My buddy explained that his son should protect his balls and how painful balls can be to hits. This was all new to his son. So his son asked if his dad has balls, if I had balls, and about each male at the pool, like this was an unknown concept to him ! Somehow he never paid any attention to his dad s big low hangers before that day. It makes you wonder what he thought seeing them and never thinking anything about them before that discussion ?

It's amazing how many parents and caregivers (and I use the words loosely) are so embarrassed, if not just downright 'freaked out' by the concept of male genitals and having to talk about them. Myself, I learned all I needed to know from the older kids on the school bus, and a book. Yep, a book. I was 11 or 12. I was probably the only boy who knew that the vagina tilts at about a 30 degree angle, according to that author, but I digress.
As many long-time members here know, I've gone through 2 nephews, 3 godsons, 1 almost-stepson, and now have 2 grand-godsons. I went out of the diaper business with GG1 when he was about 2. Over the years, I was designated the one to address all the "penis issues". I never had any hangups talking about the subject. And kids around 1999 or so sure knew a lot more at younger ages than I ever did! But we talked about it. GG1 is 12 now. We've talked about it. I've seen him naked. He's fine. Bit shameless at times, but we've talked about that. No, it is not OK to just whip it out and pee in the park! Unless it's a big tree, and I'm standing behind you to block the other side view. They've all grown up with the understanding that genitals are (gasp) to normal to have, and that if something is wrong, TELL someone. Usually me.
I have had my oldest godson (31) ask me, "Why did he (12) ask you?" My reply was: "Why isn't he comfortable with asking YOU? You know better."
We've headed off minor irritations (they're all circumcised, although very loosely and 'lazily'), infected bug bites, and a minor hydrocele that was quickly dispatched. All because they're not afraid to ask, and they know what they have, and how it works, and how it should feel.
It's a shame, as I said, that so many parents are too rattled by the subject to discuss it. I don't get it.

When I trained in the general group of taekwondo, teenagers often tried to kick for some reason me in the groin though they knew that I put on protective "shell"

. In reply, as well as it is offered, I put rigid blocks. Everything including the coach, approved my actions.
