However, after numerous unsuccessful attempts to stop, I feel that castration is the best option to reduce my libido. Additionally, I have always felt shame in regards to my testicles. I remember asking my mother why I had to have them. I never wanted them.

I have been exploring my options and will likely try chemical castration before committing to permanent surgical procedure.

After reading this post, you are a PRIME candidate for chemical castration. Having your testicles physically removed is an irreversible decision, but chemical castration would be perfect in your case as you wish to lower your libido.

The goal with chemical castration is to be sure you don't make a mistake in having your testicles removed. If you try it out and don't like it, you simply come off the chemical castration medications, and go back to how you were. If it is what you want, you can then proceed to having your testicles surgically removed.

Thank you everyone for your warm and helpful comments. I have learned quite a lot reading different posts in the forums. I agree that my best option right now is to be chemically castrated. I hope to continue to read up on it and to continue to educate myself. Hopefully I can go through with it sooner rather than later, as I have become even more prone to give in to my urges to pleasure myself recently. The chemical method will hopefully lower my libido and help me break this cycle which sometimes occupies an entire day.
