I am keeping politics out of this post on purpose.

Over the past year or so a concerted effort has been waged against various online "clip sites". Yesterday multiple news agencies announced that the biggest online clip site has shut down the ability to download clips and will soon allow only verified users to upload clips.

Realizing that this "Brave New World" against anti-clip sites might result in a hail storm of pain for any of their users.

I made a decision to delete all of my information and accounts on EVERY CLIP SITE.

I am not going to list a link nor post an article here. However, you can find the information with a simple search.

Note: There is no reason to worry about eunuch.org as it does not allow clips nor pictures.

Re: download - anything that can be watched on the web, can be downloaded. No exceptions. The question is - how much effort the owners of the site are ready to give to try stopping it. Or how much they want to inconvenience the users.

If you don't have any accounts on sites where you can view clips (pieces of porn movies), then you are fine.

Yes, it's pretty easy to stitch together any stream.

My worry is that with the new attention on these clips sites that the people with accounts might also come under scrutiny. I remember how fast pokerstars went down once it was in the crosshairs. Well, down for US players. Other countries just took the millions in taxes and were happy.

So there is account. Registered on email, preferably in non-USA (and not 5-eyes) jurisdiction. What next? Or is there more personal data in the account?

You would think governments would learn that one of their counterparts will just have a lassez-faire policy on this, people will use a VPN service to get there, and get around the prohibition. People in China are good at this.

Yes, I try to use a non-US email to register any account on a "clip site". And, of course, I use a good VPN to surf any website. Plus, I check for RTC leaks.

Still, if there is no advantage to having a free account, then why give them even a bread crumb to follow.
