The Maryland sniper

So, apparently they've caught the two men involved in the Maryland serial shootings.

One is an adult, and the other is a juvenile. They will seek the death penalty for the adult, and it seems to me they will get it.

As for the juvenile, they can only put him in prison for life without parole, since he's 17 years old.

If they're going to keep him around, I think they should emasculate him completely in order to reduce his aggression level too.

Apparently, if the juvenile is tried in Virginia (where three of the killings took place), he can be sentenced to death.

...according to reports they both have sympathies to the 9-11 incident.

To hell with cutting their genitals. Execute them and then they can be emasculated in hell.

I support the death penalty for both of them once they are convicted by a jury.

...all cold-blooded murderers are entitled to a trial before they are executed.

Let's throw them in a hot furnace.

If they burn to death then they were innocent.

If they do not burn then they are the spawn of the Debbil and they must be drowned....Or perhaps shot, according to the price of bullets.

Why not use the bullets they found on the 2 snipers?

:( Executing children????? What is going on in guys???

I have to speak out here! Fundementally, the death penalty is wrong. The UN agrees, the EU agrees, Amnesty International agrees, you name 'em they hate it! I just aint right!

More importantly to say that this child should be executed after he has had his mind twisted & abused by an adult who was entrusted with his care, is immoral. Yes he may never gain his freedom (and maybe rightly so), yes he has the blood of innocent civilians on his hands, and yes he is dangerous....but he is A CHILD. A responsible adult has been polluting his mind, making him also a victim.

Whether they had sympathies for Al-Quaida is irrelevant! It does not give right to increasing the way that these people are punished. Someones politics or religion does not mean that we can negate basic human rights nor the necessity to treat all humans with dignity... even the homicidal.

Even Osama Bin Laden deserves a fair trial, humane treatment and the preservation of his basic rights. No act, or incident gives us the right to behave as we wish no matter how wronged we are.

This is not a personal attack on anyone or the US, but loosing sight of the values that we cherished in better times & not keeping a level head during moments of extreme injustice will only result in becoming the very thing we are fighting.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

The nice thing about the death penalty is that it renders the criminal incapable of killing again.

Secure life imprisonment can achieve the same effect, so I guess I could settle for that.

Would you still feel the same if one of the victums was your spouse, your child or your close friend?
