LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two southeast Oklahoma men were charged with removing the testicles of a willing 28-year-old Virginia man, according to court documents.

The LeFlore County District Attorney’s office filed the court documents on Wednesday, October 21, accusing Bob Lee Allen, 53, and Thomas Evans Gates, 42, of Wister, Oklahoma for:

COUNT 1: Conspiracy to commit unlicensed surgery

COUNT 2: Practicing medicine without a license

COUNT 3: Maiming

COUNT 4: Unlawful use of communication facility

COUNT 5: Distribution of controlled/dangerous substance

COUNT 6: Assault/Battery with a dangerous weapon

COUNT 7: Failure to bury a dead human member

COUNT 8: Possession of controlled dangerous substance

COUNT 9: Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

On Wednesday, October 14, McAlester Regional Hospital called the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) to report they had a 28-year-old man who said he had surgery at a home in Wister on Monday, October 12.

The patient told hospital personnel that the plan was to remove his testicles, “by a Bob Allen and Thomas,” according to court documents. “The victim informed medical personnel that Bob and Thomas tried to get him to participate in cannibalism.”

Sheriff deputies spoke with the victim on Wednesday evening at the hospital.

The victim told the deputies that about three weeks ago he was searching the internet about castrations and made contact with Allen through one of those sites. They chatted online then Skyped. Allen said he had 15 years of experience and has videos of the procedures, according to a court affidavit.

On September 28, the victim, who lives in Virginia, booked a flight, after Allen told him “the surgery wouldn’t cost him anything,” per the court documents.

The victim flew to Texas and was allegedly picked up by Allen.

Once in Oklahoma, the victim says the procedure took place. Court documents say the victim was awake during the surgery and under local anesthesia.

After the surgery, Allen said, “he was going to consume the parts, laughed, and said he was a cannibal.” Allen mentioned there were six more clients scheduled for the same procedure, according to the affidavit.

On Tuesday morning, October 13, the victim said he woke up with a lot of bleeding and would pass out. He called for Allen who finally agreed to take him to McAlester Regional Hospital.

During the drive, Allen told the victim that if he died, or lost consciousness, he’d dump him in the woods. They arrived at the hospital and Allen said, “if anyone asks, he done it to himself,” according to the court document.

The LCSO got a search warrant for the Wister home. Allen and Gates were not at home when the deputies arrived.

During the search, one room had multiple storage devices with recordings of “this type of surgery,” three laptops, and numerous medications.

During the search, the deputies were told that Allen and Gates were at the hospital trying to visit the victim. That’s where McAlester police officers took both men into custody.

After the search was completed, the deputies transported Allen and Gates from the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office to LCSO for booking.

Allen and Gates are scheduled for a court appearance on October 23. Both are currently jailed with bonds set at 295,000 each.

The victim is still hospitalized at McAlester Regional Health Center due to the botched surgery.

If you watch the video on my blog you’ll see a bilateral orchiectomy is an incredibly simple surgery and usually takes around thirty minutes. If the cords are properly sutured there should be no blood loss at all. These three idiots are complete buffoons and each deserves what they get. This community needs to work hard to make it much easier for a man to have his testicles removed by a medical professional and put these back alley cutters out of business. A woman with a family history of cancer can electively have her breasts, uterus and ovaries removed without doctors batting an eyelash. So why the reluctance to remove the testicles of a man with a family history or prostate or testicular cancer or just for other health benefits?

It's a shame men feel they need to go to back alley cutters to get such a simple procedure done, especially now when there are some doctors who will perform an orchiectomy with only informed consent (Dr. Arnkoff comes to mind) for a bit over $3000. Glad the new eunuch survived his ordeal but that one hell of a risk.

Although requiring a letter from a shrink (which I think she will refer) the surgeon who removed my scrotum offers simple bilateral orchiectomy for about $1,500. Her website even refers to men who desire castration but do not with to transition to female. However, these doctors are still very rare. Perhaps the best route to legitimate castration surgery is to seek out doctors specializing in sex reassignment surgery. Your average urologist is highly unlikely to agree to voluntary castration and yet doctors dealing with transgenders readily recognize "non-binary" as a legitimate identity and would be open to removing a man's testicles who simply wishes to become a Eunuch.

you're absolutely correct Doctors willing to remove healthy testicles are far more rare than I think they should be, I'm of the opinion that anyone should be free to do with their body as they wish and if that means removing their testicles, scrotum, penis or any other part they should be allowed to do so provided they know what they're doing. That said, the victim in the news story referenced traveled all they way from Virginia to Oklahoma to have this back alley surgery done. I'm fairly certain I know the Doctor you're referring to who does a simple orchiectomy and I believe she's on the east coast, Dr. Arnkoff is located in Michigan both locations are as close if not closer to the victim's home. Really all they saved by going to this particular cutter was a few thousand bucks (though after their emergency room visit maybe not even that). Personally I value my life more than that which is why once I finally get around to having myself castrated it'll be by a licensed doctor. I genuinely understand the appeal of going to a cutter, I seriously considered it in the past when I received offers for one to visit me, and even received offers from the cutter mentioned in this story but I'm glad I didn't accept. Please anyone considering using a cutter look into your other options first, I much prefer to hear about someone happy with the results of their castration than to hear of someone almost dying because they went to a hack with a scalpel who has no idea what they're doing.

The more awareness of the eunuch identify and our community we can raise , the more acceptance we’ll see. Greater acceptance and understanding is what’s needed for more medical providers to feel comfortable offering orchiectomies and other similar body modifications to those voluntarily seeking them.
