Hey guys, I've been considering an Androcur trial for a few years now, but I worry about some of the side effects.
Breast development is one of the more concerning. I'm a pretty slender guy, so it would probably be more noticeable if I had partially-developed breasts. If you've stopped treatment after developing breast tissue, did it reduce at all afterward? I may not have anything to worry about, since my mom and sister were both flat-chested until their 30s. My dad's mother could generously fill a d cup though. Would my chances of getting buds be lowered if I didn't take an estrogen to promote it? If my nipples just filled out a bit and became more sensitive, I don't think I would mind that. I've seen a few skinnier guys who have naturally cone-shaped nipples.
Another concern is the weight gain. I have struggled with an eating disorder in the past, so something that can cause weight gain might not be my best option. I've had much higher metabolism since my freshman year of college, so maybe having more to work with could lower those chances?
Fat redistribution and changes in silhouette are two things that I don't have a full understanding of in this situation. If the trial lasts, say, six months, what could I roughly expect to see, based on what you guys have experienced and heard from each other? Has anyone had any changes in the skeleton? Is there any chance of permanence?
Skin and body hair changes I would actually look forward to, but I also wonder if there could be any lasting effects in these areas. I have some stretch marks and loose tissue from a large weight fluctuation, and I wonder if softening and tightening of the skin could improve that, and if it could potentially last after I recover from the trial.
Thanks in advance, guys!

Re: Body Change Outlook for Androcur Alone?
If you wish to lower your testosterone by Androcur but not get feminization, I suggest you consider taking Androcur together with Tamoxifen. I have posted my journey here on EA.
I started Tamoxifen a bit late, and my mini-breast and enlarged nipples remained even after years on Tamoxifen and stopping Androcur for 10 years. They are not going away.
With Tamoxifen, I was able to gain back energy to return to exercises and lose the well over 10 lbs of weight that I had gained.
I have not had much fat redistribution. I think that happens more if you start taking estrogen.
Skin and body hair thin out only after about a year. I never wanted them. After stopping Androcur, they did not return. They did return a little bit after I started testosterone replacement for my depression and osteopenia.

Re: Body Change Outlook for Androcur Alone?
Well, your mileage will vary. I can speak of only my experience.
During the 4 month trial I did not gain fat. But I chose more active time of a year for castration - summer.
Nor did I notice breast growth. But I used Tamoxifen and Raloxifen to avoid breast growth and keep bones healthy.
Currently I am on Androcur again. I have been on it for a month now. And I am loosing weight instead of gaining it. It is because I am exercising and stopped eating after 6pm. Also try to use less sweet stuff and other known foods that make people fat. Otherwise I do not watch what I eat and how much. Well only that much that I eat very slowly and as I start to feel fullness, I stop.
Exercising has become difficult, and it is kind of uphill struggle. I am not able anymore to exercise as much and as intense as before, but I still do what I can. And I feel it has helped me alot. I feel better, happier, not as tired as previous trial.
But by 6 months you will probably notice you will look different. More smooth skin. And fat might redistribute a little. To butt and stomach even if you do not gain weight.
I do take vitamin D + calcium. That will give you better sleep and you won't feel as tired. D vitamim deficiency is very common and it is better to avoid it if castrated. Also I take Iron To avoid anemia which tends to develope in eunuchs and B12 to keep brain and nerves in good shape. Reduced B12 is again common in eunuchs.
One thing I noticed at 4th month was, that I developed a cellulite. But that disappeared in few months after discontinuing Androcur.

Re: Body Change Outlook for Androcur Alone?
I have been taking Androcur for 1 month. First 10 mg/d, currently 50 mg/d. I tolerate it very well. I notice a decrease in my body hair, which is very pleasant. Erectile function is slightly less but still present. I have not noticed any weight gain so far. So far also no breast growth. What dose did you take and for how long until impotence occurred?

100mg/d for about 3 to 4 weeks for impotence and significant shrinkage of the balls. IIRC, I interrupted the treatment after 8 or 9 weeks because I couldn't stand the out breath business anymore.
I'm now taking Dutasteride, against BPH. Side-effects could be impotence, which would be really nice. Another potential side-effect is possible breast-growth.
Well they weren't kidding about that. My breasts are growing, and pretty quickly too. I didn't really want that, but after all, I don't care anymore.
Good luck with your Androcur cure
