Wannabe eunuch in Florida

Hi all. This is a terrific and informative site. I'm a 63-year-old married male not having sex with my wife anymore. I'm still a horndog and it drives me crazy. I've decided I want to do the orchiectomy procedure, but like looks like it's not so easy. Does anyone know any doctors in Florida who would do it on the down-low without a lot of red tape? I mean if kids can have sex changes, why can't a consenting adult have a simple orchiectomy?

By the way, I'm a vegan and don't want to put any chemicals in my body, so chemical castration isn't an option. Probably won't do HRT either, but will do calcium supplements. Just looking for the fastest, easiest, reasonably priced way to safely get snipped.

Thank you for listening.

Otto,

There are a lot of married men in this forum with a similar background to yours. My wife after having kids gradually lost her libido. I was castrated in October by a local urologist. But it took a bit of persistence to achieve our goal. We played up the pain angle (was true but not that much pain). The first three urologists were dismissive. Finally I emailed our doctor asking if she knew of a surgical urologist. She knew my wife had low sex drive and recommended one that was sympathetic to surgical solutions. Two weeks after consulting with this urologist I was free of my testes.

Great information there Don. Much appreciated. Did you insurance cover it?

Agree with Donnie. Persistence is key and more urologists are willing to do castrations, however, you might have to travel some to get it done. I always found female urologists to be more sympathetic, especially if you tell them that you're struggling to control your sexual desires. Some men who seek castration have had success with transgender doctors/surgeons. They usually go see a psychiatrist and get one or two letters from them stating that castration (bi-lateral orchiectomy) is beneficial for their well being. You've just got to be persistent.

You might check for SRS surgeons in your area. Probably all require a letter from a shrink but that should not be an issue as long as your choice is considered reasonable and you appear sane and able to make an informed decision. Doubtful any insurance would cover it as it would not be medically necessary. It's not easy but probably easier than going the Urologist route as most doctors who treat transgender people are far more open minded regarding the matter of voluntary castration.

I was castrated by a Urologist but later chose to have my scrotum removed by a plastic surgeon in North Carolina who specialized in SRS surgery. I figured she would do a better job cosmetically and also her fee was very reasonable.
