Got the call this afternoon and I have to be at the hospital at 8:30am tomorrow morning. I'm having a button turp and if all goes well I might only have to stay 1 day. Fingers crossed everything goes right this time I didn't have good luck last year with my 4 surgeries but that was last year and this is another surgeon and hospital.

Best wishes for you in this, and be sure to keep us posted.
And remember, no heavy lifting for a while afterwards.

6:44 pm had panic attack when I saw out of the corner of my eye they were draining my catheter bag and I was blood red they said it was because I had been up to the toilet and it started bleeding but not to worry that this was normal. Now having multiple bladder contractions they didn't warn me how much they would hurt it's like getting stabbed multiple times in a row. They don't stock my anxiety meds so no help with the panic attack but pain meds at 8:00 pm so I just have to hold out. They stop the spasms and make me really relaxed. Chesleyt

8:45 pm feels like I have a full bladder and slight burning sensation still no pain meds even though I asked last post. I was told that they were getting the meds for everybody at this time. I guess its time to push the button again.

Hope all went well. I personally hate the term "normal" to describe something that is "typical after surgery". Peeing bright red blood is not "normal" it might be expected post-surgery.
Also, YES! OH HELLA YES hospitals stock anxiety medications. It might not have been on your orders from your doctor but, they can get Ativan IV from the pharmacy. I know nurses are busy and have more than one patient. It's one reason an advocate (a family member or friend) at the hospital is a good idea.
