Some time ago ,i said here that I wanted to try out chemical castration by self medicating depo provera, but you guys convinced me that that is not a good idea .

So now I want to find a doctor and do the exams ,tests ,all the right stuff and whatnot , but I have no idea how I'm gonna do it because I don't know how to talk to him/her about it.

Here are some questions I have about it

1)do I have to look for an specific doctor?

Like,do I go straight to an sexual doc or I go to a general one and he will direct me to the sexual one, or will the general one do ?

2)how much will I have to say ?

I don't think there is a lot of people that go to a doctor that don't wanna be transexuals and want to be chemically castrated. So he might find it weird .

How much will I have to explain to him ? Or he'll simply help me ?

I think that it would be really nice of yall if you could tell me how and how much did you have to talk to the doctor about it .

Thanks in advance for your time

I’d suggest finding a doctor that works with trans people and tell them you are very uncomfortable with libido and you would like to lower it with medication to see if castration in the future is right for you.

FYI, I went to Planned Parenthood. A lot of them are doing HRT for trans related people. I never have wanted to transition. I just told them that I was wanting to try getting my T under control because I was tired of fighting my libido. They issued a script for Spironolactone that I took for about 6 months. I liked what it was doing, so I went back and requested E because the body doesn't do very well without some kind of hormones. You don't have to go there, but the Spiro did let me know what it was like with a greatly diminished amount of T.

Considering that I have no idea where you live it’s impossible to tell you. I’d start with google and look for “transgender informed consent hormone therapy “
