The Water Main break of all water main breaks

A water main broke about 12 miles north of where I live and it gushed for over an hour. I've never seen anything like this before. I have seen leaks from a 36 inch water main but that was lots and lots of water flowing down a street. I wasn't a real gusher like this. I don't know how big this water main is...

And think about the water pressure involved to push a geyser that high. There's nothing in your home or any other home that can handle this high pressure.

Amazing! Can you imagine, if you'd been driving over that when it went? As Ray Stevens said, "State Farm ain't never gonna believe this one!"

Flowing water is very destructive ...

Last year was the 2nd rainiest year of all recorded history for this area. Lots of water damage

I'm mildly amused that when I went to watch the video, it started with a commercial that at the beginning is from the perspective of being inside a tornado.

I've gone to WTAE news website several times and never had a commercial ... Are you sure that's not an overhead view of the water spouting out of the ground about twice as high as the electric poles?

No, it was an actual commercial. Included a spinning house in it ala The Wizard of Oz.

That was dumb of them. I don't get the commercials. Maybe because of my adblocker or because they actively read your location.

BTW, both my local newspapers are behind pay walls or some sort of memberships. It's a real pain in the gazorkie {technical term}.
