Found some old articles from this site from the 02 - 04's talking about Gonex a on time inject able castrator. This drug was designed for veterinary use, but might have been seen as an alternative to treating prostate cancer. The FDA was in the process of screening this drug and these threads speculated about what the drug would be like and how it would, if passed be a huge help to the community of eunuch want to bes.
I've been unable to find anything useful as to why the drug dropped off the face of the Earth and was wondering if someone knows why it failed.

Just a guess, but most likely the vets make far more money from surgically castrating pets and livestock than they would from a simple one time injection.
Drs similarly make much more money from surgical castrations of men and ongoing testicle supression drugs with endless office visits and long term drug sales.
The intended supply chain of middle men from maufacturer to final users didn t want to lose income to an effective, one time, permanent, low cost, and easy to use castration method.
It wasn t going to make them big money to give it to their patients.
The ball owners would probably like it, so would farmers and ranchers. But the middle men wouldn t make enough profit to pass it from the manufacturer to the final ball owners. So, the middle men refused to use it.

The drug was never approved for human use. The FDA does not regulate drugs for agricultural use. It was largely dropped as ineffective. It is long gone.

I can buy Frontline flea protection for my cat at the supermarket. But, to get the stuff that really works called Revolution, I need to take the cat to the vet and get a prescription. Why? Exactly who in the hell is going to abuse cat heartworm, flea and tick medication? Nobody. But the vet won't make as much money if I can buy it at the market.
