I think I have found my group....

Having just discovered EA I feel I have finally found my group. Surgical castration is now a potential reality and the eunuch life appeals as a genuinely possible last phase of my life.

I am a lifelong closet transsexual, now nearly 70 with a fully functioning male life behind me including ex-marriages and children.

These days I sometimes identify as gay (still in the closet) but I don't think I am really attracted to males as a male – does that make sense to anyone?

Hey @Arachnid,

Welcome home.

Yes, everything you said makes sense. You are not an MTF (male to female) transexual. From what I read you are identifying as MTE (Male to Eunuch).

Is Eunuch a gender? Yes.

The search for your answers to your gender identity questions is something very personal. Only you get to describe your gender identity in your own words. On this search I must say, Welcome to the family,,,,

Transgender includes both binary and nonbinary; I include my eunuch identity in the latter. Wanting to remove one or more sex characteristics, or acquire one or more sex characteristics of the opposite sex, is pretty much the definition of transgender.

Not being attracted to males as a male is the best way of describing my own attractions during my lifetime. Prior to surgical castration/nullification I never even remotely thought or considered another male from/in a sexual concept. Nor did I for years later. I must admit though that some time after beginning Hormone intake (specifically with estrogen) as my body began slowly changing its shape I began getting attention from males along with the attention I got from females. Being still in youth it was a bit confusing. To this day I still do not see anything attractive about the male penis or balls. (I do however have a great appreciation of the pleasure they can give me since hormone intake has had it's way with my body. Sex with females since my own change has been that of equals as making love with but with a male I find I totally give myself to strength and control of the male making love to me rather than with me. There seems to be a huge difference and I can only imagine that this may be the case with a gay female dominating rather than being with. Not knowing how a gay person thinks I can only proffer my imaginary thought on the subject. And of course I would never desire to offend any others by presupposing how another might think on the topic, only sharing my personal perspective.

So yes Arachnid, what you said make perfect sense to this eunuch. But then again, becoming eunuch changes us chemically as well as physically so the thinking and feelings may be completely different from the intact being I once was.
