I don't know the answer but, might suggest looking at websites for men being chemically castrated for prostate cancer.
Unfortunately, I've had family with PC and needed to learn about the various methods of suppressing aggressive PC. One way that is favored by some doctors is a DHT inhibitor such as Proscar. It seems the T made by the adrenals can be shut down with a DHT inhibitor.

I'm on HRT and my levels are high I noticed about 2 years my prostate started to give me problems again 3 years ago I had a urolift done to open up my prostate urethra. I was able to get off all the prostate meds then and all went well for 2 years I wasn't on HRT then about a year later I had to start HRT it's took some time but my prostate has grown and I'm 4 different medications for it now in September my retiring urologist had to stretch me so I could urinate and told me I would be needing surgery he didn't know how long it would last the problems have returned. I read some research on BHP and castration and it worked on shrinkage of the prostate but when testosterone was reintroduced it reversed quickly. I'm already castrated so I wonder how low of a testosterone level would I need to not get the bad side effects of no testosterone.

Hey @Chesleyt ,
Have you looked into prosthetic bladder sphincter for retention?
It's a device that opens and closes the bladder sphincter using a pump placed in the scrotum.
I used the Bing search engine and searched for prostetic bladder sphincter for retention
Here is what it said:
"An artificial sphincter (the muscle that opens and closes your bladder) is one option for treating urinary incontinence, if it’s caused by an enlarged prostate. A doctor puts a small, fluid-filled ring around your bladder neck. This helps keep your sphincter shut until it’s time for you to urinate."
So, it is approved for incontinence but, it might work with retention as well. It's something to thing about.
Best of luck.

I already talked to him about it and it's only for incontinence. It looks like I'm going to have prostate surgery (turp) to fix it. Removing T won't work for me.
