The Favorite (2018)
I still wonder why I found the movie The Favorite so fascinatingly bitchy and fun in a black comedy way I should hate this movie. Its all plot and character, no action, three women seeking sex, power, dominion, and other things, but its entertaining and engrossing.
It's historical gossip.
The Favorite is set in 1708 when Queen Anne of Britain is in poor health and rules the Kingdom of England through Sarah Churchill - - her advisor, confidant, furtive love, and pet rabbits - - and in steps Abigail, the third in what becomes a love triangle about ruling as blood sport for the attention of the queen.
It is delightfully engrossing and lots of fun as the two advisors plot against each other to be prime advisor and real power behind the throne of England. This is British Royalty misbehaving terribly much to the audiences great enjoyment.
