I just developed an odd red ring around the tip of my dick over the weekend, I honestly have no idea what it is. I've not stuck it where it doesn't belong and I haven't submitted it to any kind of CBT in awhile. It's just a fairly defined red ring right around the glans, about a 1/4-inch back from my peehole. It definitely looks like a rash of some kind, but there's no itching or discomfort. I can't find anything online that describes it. Just gonna watch it next few days to make sure it gets smaller not bigger.

I know I joke around on here a lot. This is the first time in awhile I've had something that actually concerns me a little bit. Any of the older guys ever have something like this and know what it is? TIA

Just a thought, but it is not likely to be ringworm, especially if it hasn't been anywhere it shouldn't be.

Ringworm is exactly what I thought and looks like, but I’ve no idea how the hell I could get that... especially there. Not to mention pretty sick to think about.

It could be an allergic reaction to either a latex condom or the spermicide in the condom.

I know most men think taking their penis to the doctor is embarrassing but, to a doctor, it's just another penis they've seen that day. Honestly, the doctor isn't going to give it a 2nd though.

Most likely, he'll order a blood draw to test for the normal blood chemistry and STDs. Dropping your pants for the urologist to see the ring will take a few minutes and I'd bet he's both seen it before and can cure it.

There've been quite a few articles in the news recently about various bacteria in natural, pool and hot tub water. So, even if you haven't dipped your pen in the wrong ink well recently, it's possible you picked up something in the pool water.

Don't wait, call a urologist and make an appointment. Some won't see you without a referral (and some insurance companies require a referral). So, phone your normal doctor and tell them you want the referral. If you can't get a referral from your primary doctor, then go to an urgent care (some ER departments have an urgent care center as well).

It could be contact dermatitis, fungus, a bacteria or just a mark from some new tight underpants you've bought. By the way, wash all new clothes before wearing them. To keep new clothes from being moth-eaten before sell, clothing makers spray them with bug spray which can cause problems if the clothes aren't washed.

The bottom line is to go to the doctor. Doctor Internet isn't really the best specialist to consult.

I've been to the beach a lot lately and one worry I had was flesh eating virus like they keep reporting at South Florida beaches. I'm in Charleston which is several hundred miles away. Still, all I could think was how ironic after all the crap I've posted to EA that I would become national news with "21-year-old man loses penis to flesh eating virus." Not really how I want to be known for or remembered by my exes.

Thanks for all the input, except the penis cancer comment. I'm just glad he's all back to normal today.
