English is not a mandatory language here, but the great majority of our members read, write, and speak English. There are many who speak other languages. We find that keeping things in a common language makes the place easier for everyone to follow and use.

Kristoff, I know that this is an archive mostly in English. But there are some threads in other languages, e. g. in german.

Language is tricky in Europe.

There are quite a few countries the same size as some of your States and all speak different languages.

English is quite often taught in schools as second language.

That said when ever I am in another place I try to make an effort.

On man mods site I quite often use Chrome to get some sort of understanding about what is going on there.
