I kind of follow soccer on msn.com/es-mx. Sports is made for Latino humor in memes. They had a field day when US women beat Thailand 13-0. One showed the Thailand goalkeeper. It was Homer Simpson cowering in the net from all the balls flying in from all sides. Latinos seem to use the Simpsons a lot in their portrayals of life.

Company I work for can never find enough workers in the area; they went to the Philippines to hire a few years ago, we now have around 60 working and living here.

They, too, absolutely love the Simpsons, and also know basically all cultural references based on TV/American movies. I guess it's from the massive influence of America during and after WWII, but I swear, Pinoy folks are the most American country in Asia.

They even have these amazing knock-offs of American foods, like these cookies called something like Ar-Rio (Oreo copies) made by Fibisco!! I love it; Fibisco instead of Nabisco, and the letters "Fib" in it (meaning 'a lie' in English). I about died laughing when I saw the wrapper one of them left.
