Osteoporosis

I have become a chemical eunuch since 2009. My story and my journey had been posted previously. As expected, I have been tested with low testosterone levels.
Last month, I was finally able to get my doctor to order a bone density scan and found osteopena in my lumbar spine, an early weakening of the bones, which can lead to osteoporosis. My lumbar spine is equivalent to a 87 year old, i.e., over 20 years older than me. My endocrinologist determined that my bone fracture risks are low, and refused to prescribe any medication to prevent further bone density loss, other than Androgel.
Privately, I have been taking low dose of Raloxifene at 30 mg/day, and will now go to full dose at 60 mg/day. Hopefully, these will stave off worsening of osteopena into osteoporosis.

Similiar, 39 with bones of an 80 year old after 4 years of Androcur.
The T score of the lumbar spine is -3.2.
The T score of the total hip is -2.6.
The T score of the femoral neck is -2.9.
Take once a week Fosamax, and started 0.025 estradiol patch but not crazy about the breast growth.

Yea, I really won't want to get estrogens and major breast growth.
How is the Fosamax going? Any side effects? I should try to talk my PCP to upgrading to Fosamax.

Two things you really should add to ones diet are D3 which is needed by the body to utilize calcium not D but D3 and a calcium supplement. These should be part of your diet no matter if you are intact, castrated, or on any HRT.
