I have to use at time Cipralex ( escitralopram ) 5mg/day since 6 days and was instantly unable to orgasm after few hours.
Now the libido is going down extremely and masturbating is more work then fun and orgasm isn't possible.
Have still the urge to do it but after 5min it's all senseless.
Hoping also this urge wil went away...
Have had heavy side effects also last days but now it's going slowly better and how I was read after 10 days should all be normal, only not the sexual things.
Nice!

That kind of side effect is common with SSRI's. The other stuff you describe for side effects is also common. The good news is that with all the SSRI meds available now, there are slight differences in them and the normal course for nasty side effects is to switch drugs because some have worse effects on some people than others. In my case, I got put on Celexa and I was absolutely miserable. PCP told me it could take up to six weeks to start working, he didn't want to try something else. I quit the Celexa three weeks in, the side effects were still getting worse. I got a new PCP and went through my problems with him, he put me on Zoloft (sertraline) and the side effects went away for the most part, in a matter of days. As for the sexual side effects, the primary one is delayed ejaculation and that one is pretty frustrating, but getting rid of my PTSD related depression was a godsend.

I can confirm the side effects. I also take antidrepressives. The name is reboxetine and for a long time I have no erection anymore. the sexual desire is reduced to 80 percent. in the remaining 20 are only the fantasy and memory of earlier times. while mastrubieren the penis is soft. the orgasm is only 10 percent as before. only a little liquid. No sexual arousal possible through visual stimulation. Even if my wife turns me on everything stays motionless and small. Anmeinem body, I have a stiff penis only when I wear a strap on dildo. the rest hangs useless and soft.

All SSRI antidepressants have the delayed ejaculation side effects.

Psychology Today published an article about 2.5 years ago about the side effects on the brain of SSRI medications. They refer to them as a "Chemical Lobotomy".

I guess you could ask the doc about Viagra or one of the other PDE5 inhibitors. How they work is at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDE5_inhibitor if interested.
Just a thought.....

you can get an erection on those meds but I still couldn't feel orgasm anymore and ejaculation was the same. I'm on a couple ssri and snri and am mentally a eunich for many years and now my body is becoming a physical eunich I just lost the right one and the left one is following suite. all I can say is look up the meds some are worse than others and now the new ones seam to be better with less side effects talk with your psych doctor about changeing meds before it's to late some meds sides become perminent after time I know I'm one who found out to late to get help.

I tried an SSRI for a couple weeks. All it did was make me a zombie, and one that couldn't orgasm at that. Since it took away about one of the only joys I had in life at that time, I went off it. I'd much rather have depression and ability to get the joy of orgasm, than a zombie existence.

At one time I was on Effexor (also called No-Sexor), an SSRI. If I knew it was going to be needed, I would not take the meds the day of need. It worked. Ultimately, I came off the Effexor - I was on 375 mg daily. I came down to 37 mg a day over 6 months, then quit altogether. I had a low grade headache constantly for about two months; wouldn't quit. In the meantime, I went on 450 mg of Wellbutrin daily - it works wonderfully for me, and I don't have to worry about erective ability - I just get that from low T.

Now that I think back on it, when I was on SSRI's, I was even more sexless than I am now. I did have issues with low T during those times as well. I've been off all meds for over 5 years now and I seemed to notice that spontaneous erections are back and I hate it. Working toward nullification surgery later this year. I didn't really put the meds and sexless together until reading this post but it makes total sense. For me the "side effects" weren't an issue but I can see it would be for most. Basically I was happy with no sex drive or limited erections.

Now day 7 and feel normal again, no bad sides anymore. Erections are no problem and better then before, could be because orgasm is really difficult (have had one yesterday with any work ... was incredible strong).
Think the body needs an orgasm from time to time and so it works one time per week? Normally I can't reach them now.
Have to up the dosage to 10mg, could be then it's harder... but wish the libido went away relative completely after any time.
