It makes me squeamish and I think it may be troublesome for her son in the future. She's a pro though!

I disagree with it being problematic for her son. Kids raised on a farm grown up with far more life knowledge that city kids who live a sheltered life. Had she not explained why castration was necessary to him or had presented to him in a more bloody way I could see where it might affect him. Banding for animals is over quickly, and usually before an hour has passed the kids are up and running around. like nothing ever happene.

This is an area where we do have some data to work with. Keep in mind, though, that correlation does NOT equal causation. We have some interesting correlations.

The first survey that we ran on the Eunuch Archive had 3,086 respondents. Of those, 354 reported that they had been surgically castrated, but not penectomized. 1,386 self-identified as wanting castration (though we did not ask questions that would separate those wanting only an orchiectomy from those wanting penectomy or nullification). 1,240 stated that they were “just interested” enough in the subject of eunuchs and castration to answer a 250-question survey.

We asked everyone where they grew up. In the 1970 U.S. Census, about an average age for puberty of the respondents, 2.48% of the population lived on working farms. Of our three populations, 18.3% of those already castrated, 11.2% of the wannabes, and 10.7% of the “just interested” grew up on working farms.

While the numbers of those penectomized or nullified were too small for useful statistics, both groups were far more urban and big city, and not rural, in background.

Anyone here want to speculate on causal factors?
