Voice change on TRT ?

Woke up at 4 am with things going round and round in my head and thought it would be best to write things down and post on the EA. I'm guessing I'm going through a kind of psychological adjustment phase where the mind has to adapt to the removal of the sex glands, does that make sense ? Another thing I've been wondering about is the effects of TRT and one thing I've not seen anything about on the forums which is does your voice change. Because I never developed as very masculine guy after puberty I have a rather feminine voice or at least it sounds that way to me, also I get a bit high pitched sometimes during sex. Even years before I had my testicles removed my friends joked that I sounded like a castrato. I'm wondering if that now I've started on TRT my voice will get deeper. I don't mind that I have a high voice but I'm curious about what might happen.

Hi Aron, as a teenager my voice was also rather feminine, certainly not obviously male but counteracted a bit by being husky sounding. Like you I can also get high pitched when I'm very excited. About 18 months after I castrated I started weekly injections of testosterone replacement and continued with it for one year. During this time my voice stayed exactly the same and hasn't changed in my 3+ years as a eunuch. So for me my voice seemed to have been fixed by age 23 and any HRT I took either T or estrogen didn't alter it.

Hey @aron2100,
I think the answer is "maybe". During puberty there is a cascading effect of hormones being released. It pituitary gland starts secreting different stimulating hormones that cause other glands to make the actual hormone. It's been said that the pituitary is very smart but weak and that the other glands are very strong but stupid.
FtM people who go on testosterone do experience some voice changes.
But, not every hormone in the human body has been identified. Some very important hormones are secreted at levels equal to a drop in an Olympic swimming pool. The ability to detect them is rather new.
So, is voice change 100% caused by testosterone or is there another hormone that causes the deepening and if there is, will you upping your T cause that hormone to secret?
A growth spurt in height happens at puberty as well, but when an older person starts T, they don't experience a growth spurt because that is caused by a different hormone.

TopManFL is right. The answer is maybe. If you look at adult females given male hormones for cheating in sports, or female to male transitions, adult females do have the ability to suddenly grow beards, chest hair, bigger muscles, deeper voices, broader shoulders, and all kinds of masculinization long after puberty. So no one knows if your puberty testosterone levels only had one shot at triggering those body changes or if more T now will cause these to grow more in you now ? Being so young, chances are your body can still grow those more than a man could at older ages.
Good luck with enjoying those body and mind changes to whatever degree your body will give those to you. Maybe you will become a muscle bound gorilla with a horse dick and a deep thundering voice ? Who knows ? Some guys with extra late puberties are still changing at your age. And lots of men don t finish growing their maximum adult muscles, body mass, beards, chest hair, and maximum testicle sizes until their 20s and 30s.

Hi there Aron, You can find out anything out here. Fully agree with the previous posts. It must be remembered that you will be experiencing the "confusion" of a teen boy too. Thats a big brain shift. So its ok if you are not processing stuff as you were. Your brain is dealing with other shit right now. Also there is genetics. Look at other males in your family. See what they got. Example, my family. My youngest brother is as bald as an egg, yet me, my other bro and my dad have all our hair. Both my grand and great grand fathers were bald. We all have the same voice, Deep and sexy, or so we're told, lol. The 'pattern' of hair growth on a males body can be quite distinctive. My son is 1/2 dutch descent. At 24 he has very little facial hair, like his uncle and grandfather. And he has the same build as them. When you were conceived the sperm and egg carried 1/2 each of your genetic info. Theres alot in it. If you look at pre-pububescent males (photos) in your own family and see similar characteristics to yours, theres a chance you will get an idea of what maybe in store for you? It is still an exciting , but confusing time for you Aron Be well my friend, B

Thanks cutnbulls2ox and Brycenosak, I don't have any living male relatives to compare myself to but pictures suggest slim build and medium height which is what I am. I have very little body hair and what I do have is fine and silky however.... after 2 weeks of TRT I've started to get some pubic hair just above the penis. Since I've never had pubes this would presumably indicate a slight masculinising effect. I'm going to start some gym training on Saturday, I'm curious to see if I get stronger.

Hey @aron2100,
Congrats on the pubes. I looked at your birth year in your profile and it suggests you are about 21 years old. It's very common for men to not completely finish puberty until their mid 20s.
So, if going on testosterone has caused you to grow pubes for the first time, it's very possible you'll experience many of the other symptoms of puberty - including a voice change.
The answer to your question regarding muscle growth is yes.
A therapeutic level of testosterone that is monitored to keep the T levels in the normal range, will make gaining muscles easier. The same activities at the gym that used to be very difficult will become easy. Just be careful not to over do it. If possible find a workout buddy who can help you keep at a nice pace and not injure yourself.

Hi TopManFL, thanks for the advice. I have a training schedule sent to me by Rafaella. Her advice is train light to start with even if might feel too easy, concentrate on getting the exercises right and don't worry about the weight. Once I've got it right then gradually increase the weight, also when I'm into it to vary things around a bit.
