Information needed

Post by Freemefromit (imported) »

Hi there, I'm looking for advice. I want to reduce my sex drive either by chemical castration or physical castration. My background is I'm 50 years old so kids are out of the way. My wife suffered aggressive womb cancer 5 years ago that rendered her unable to participate in sex and also destroyed her libido. She gets very distressed when I become aroused. We thought my sex drive would disappear over the years but since it hasn't I wanted to know what drugs are best for chemical castration and how to obtain them? My sex drive is redundant now so I'd like to rid myself of it and the frustration it brings me if possible.

Hey @ Freemefromit,

You can't PM until you've posted 5 messages.

In the chemical castration forum there is a sticky message (one that always appears on top) that has very good information in it.

I will again recommend Richard Wassersug's book Androgen Deprivation Therapy as good background reading on the effects of loss of testosterone. While the book is designed for prostate cancer patients who are castrated to slow spread of the disease (and most of whom are terrified by the thought of castration), it has up-to-date information on health, diet, and exercise issues. It, and all of the excellent information posted here on the Archive, should provide most of the background information that you need. The members here also stand ready to answer specific questions that you might have along the way.

I'll tell you about my experience. I too was in a constant battle against my libido. And it was winning. Last summer I decided that I need to do something about it. I found this forum and read a whole lot of other info on the web and decided to go to my local planned parenthood to start on Spironolactone, which is an anti-androgen and drops the amount of testosterone in the body. I started first week of July and I'm happy with what its done for me. My sexual thoughts are greatly diminished. And what little is left is very easy to just ignore. My masterbation and frustration levels are greatly reduced. I'm happy in this regard. I'm scheduled to have an Orchiectomy on Feb 15th. However, be warned that your body needs some kind of sex hormone. Many guys reduce the amount of AA's to find that sweet spot, or go on either a T or E supplement.

Thanks for response, yes that sounds like me. These past years since my wife and I stopped being intimate have been a constant battle with my libido and trying to pretend it's fine! I'm just at the start of gathering info to see if chemical castration will reduce it and whether it's the way to go for me. It's difficult to get this in England unless you're a criminal so I'm trying to see what the drugs are called and see how others found them, also if they work. Seems like everyone here thinks doing a chemical trial run is the best idea before you take it any further. Once I've figured out which drug/s and what dose I'll have to find a way to get them. Doctors in the uk are not helpful here I'm afraid.

You should have enough posts I think now to PM me. Maybe you need one more post first. The email here is not the one I use daily.

I will put this up so that I've done 5. Hopefully that's right.
