My Journey Started Today (1/17/19)

My order of Siterone 50mg from inhouse arrived about 2 hours ago. Took 8 days to arrive, which is much quicker than I expected(I'm in the eastern US). First thing I did was to sit down, calm myself, and read the leaflet.

I wanted to give myself a little bit to think about it, so I went back to what I was doing before(tax paperwork, ugh). Once I had thought about it and the rush of receiving the pills had subsided, I decided I was ready. I took my first tablet at ~11:30am. I plan on following the dosage in the sticky: 2x50mg per day for 3 weeks, then 50mg per day after that. I have 100 tablets, so that should last me ~79 days, although I plan on starting to wean myself off around day 60, unless I really like how I feel and then I plan on re-ordering. Along with the Siterone, I am also taking 2 tablets of Calcium Citrate + D3 and 1 tablet of Vitamin B complex. I have read in depth about the calcium and d3, and although my family has no history of osteoporosis, I figure better safe than sorry. As for the B complex, I've been talking with a chemically castrated eunuch who said it does wonders for his energy levels. Says he's still more tired than usual, but compared to how he was without the B complex, he's feeling much better.

Obviously, it's too soon to speak to any effects(it's been 20 minutes, not 20 days, lol), I definitely learned something already. I've always been good at swallowing pills. The Siterone went down easy. The Calcium/D3 went down pretty good, despite being large pills. But the B complex, a smaller pill, I struggled with. Took me several tries to swallow it. It started to break down in my mouth and the taste is still lingering. So I'm gonna have to split up the vitamins. Maybe do Siterone, 1 Calcium/D3, and the B complex at breakfast and 1 Siterone and 1 Calcium/D3 at dinner.

I plan on keeping a daily log here, so if you're interested, stay tuned. Thanks for all the support and advice up to this point. Hopefully it continues as I look forward to this new frontier.

Be careful with the calcium. You don't need it immediately, and if you do too much you could wreck your kidneys.

Thanks for the advice! How long should I wait? I'm assuming it's a YMWV thing, but on average?

Day 2. Took my second tablet of the day with dinner tonight. Nothing much to report. One thing I have noticed is about 20 minutes after I take the tablet, I'll start getting minor, dull aches in my testicles. They generally only last about 5 seconds and will come off and on for a few hours. Nothing major. Still horny and no problem getting an erection. Haven't tried masturbating, but I'm sure that would work just fine. Truthfully, nothing else to report. Just gotta stick with it and wait. Truly excited to find out how it feels.

Day 3. Still nothing major, but something is definitely happening. The aches in my testicles are growing, both in severity and occurrence. Pain level when they come is roughly 3/10. Was reading the sticky again and see this as a normal side affect, tied to the shutdown and atrophy of the testicles.

Truthfully, I kinda like it. Lets me know that despite the lack of changes(it's still very early into my trial, so not surprising), the drug is working. Do they seem smaller? Maybe... I haven't re-measured them yet as I left my calipers at the job site. I would assume it's too early for noticeable atrophy, but as YMWV, I suppose it's possible.

Just gonna keep on keeping on and see where it takes me.

Still day 3, but felt I should add something. The last two times I have urinated, my urine has been kinda cloudy. Normally, my urine is a medium, transparent yellow. But now, it has been cloudy, kinda like lemonade. Not sure if that's from the Siterone or something in my diet. But worth noting, nonetheless.

Hey @kitchkitne18,

Congrats on starting. I would recommend some routine blood work just to make sure your kidneys and liver are doing alright. Any primary care doctor should be willing to do that for you at least a couple of times per year.

Although I'd recommend a doctor order the blood work for the lab, you can order it without a doctor. It's normally very affordable to just get a CBC+CMP+UA+LP+TSH and you can order the test online, go to the lab site they tell you (normally a LabCorp or Quest) give the blood and urine and get the results online. It's not as good as having a doctor monitor your blood work, but still better than not having it tested.

You can also order a Testosterone Maintenance / Therapy Panel from the same online lab if you want to know your testosterone numbers.

There are many different ones to select from, the one I found quickly that allowed the blood draw at either Lapcorp, Quest or a few local hospitals was HealthLabs.com But, shop around, there are quite a few online lab testing sites.

Also, interesting that your testicles are complaining so loudly. Maybe they are trying to not give up without a fight.

I also find that quite interesting, especially since I'm only taking 100mg/day. But like I said, I kinda enjoy it, although around 10pm tonight it was just there in my right testicle and lasted for a good 20 minutes or so. I go back to the job site on Tuesday and will grab my calipers front my tool box to measure them. They definitely feel a little smaller tonight(mine are/were naturally on the large side). Hoping they give up sooner rather than later, as I'm anxious to experience castrate level T and the associated side effects, but if it takes a few weeks, I'm not really going to complain. I think half the fun is documenting the journey and reflecting on it.

Can you expand on this LT? I have impaired Kidney function. Not sever, but I had to cut my Celebrex dose in half the last couple of years. I've also taken calcium for about 10 years. I had been Low T that led to Osteopenia in my spine. Since I've been on T and taking Calcium my bones are strong/normal now. Your post and quick Google search makes me wonder if I need to cut back on that some.

Thanks!

WP, it's just that excess calcium in particular forms can form kidney stones. Maybe your doctor would recommend you don't need the calcium supplements anymore. My Dad, an uncle, and a friend of mine have passed kidney stones; from they way they describe it, you reeeeaaaalllly don't want to encourage them to occur! :)
