Update
Hi everyone! I thought it important to let you all know the current situation, and how I am doing as of this minute. First let me say that I am finally comming to an end, most likely in December as best as I can project. At that time my testicles and sac will be removed. My testicles are very very hard, cold, and shrinking. There is no elasticity in them and there is no feeling in them, or the vas, or anywhere in that area. The doctor still is doing one more T level and one more ultra sound at the end of October. I was examined by him and he sadly told me he doesen't hold out much hope for them to recover. Im tored of the whole thing and was even thinking of an elasator at this point for removal. I won't do that, but I do not have any feeling there so I could do that. I don't wish to risk my health at this point. So thats where it stands at this point. I hope to hear from you all, and I will keep writting to keep you all up to date on my health and on my progress. Thankyou Scottie

Re: Update
Scottie,
I'm glad you are doing all right, and that things are working out for you. I can imagine how frustrated you must feel having to wait for the Doctors to agree to remove your nuts.
I'm just glad you are finally making a few more reasonable decisions so as to not cause more harm to yourself.
I look forward to hearing on your status.
Matt.

So who will be doing the actual operation? A local urologist or Dr. Kimmel? In any case, I hope you will forget the idea of using an elastrator or anything else, and just BE PATIENT and do not do more harm to yourself that could have the potential for permanent injury or death. Please, BE PATIENT. We want you to have a long, happy life without testosterone, OK?

Re: Update
I have taken the money out of my savings account and am planning to let Dr. Kimmel do the surgery. I do not wish to do it here in this smll talk about everything town. I do not need any adverse publicity getting out from the hospital. Being a Marketing Psycologist, and a part time psycologist... it wouldn't be good to have the news get around, even in the hospital that it was done in. so I am going to Philly for sure. As far as the scrotum and testicles being done at the same time... I know that if I don't get it done now it wont get done. so im going to do it at the same time. By the way the icon you used made me chuckel so thanks. Scottie

I had no problems after my castration (other then the usual small bleeding and minor pain) because I took my antibiotics as prescribed, and kept the area clean. Dr. Spector used to have his patients start antibiotics a few days before the operation. I am not sure what Dr. Kimmel's requirements are, but do follow them.

If I remember correctly, Dr. Kimmel mails Cipro to the patient and has him start taking it before the operation, as well as after.

Re: Update
Best wishes Scottie. You have very wise choice. Wait until December and play it safe with Dr. Kimmel. I have my appointment with him on 21 October. I have spoken to him many times and he seems very nice and understanding. I shall keep in touch and let you know how things go a week from Monday.
Dr. Kimmel has said nothing about taking Cipro before the operation but it is the wise thing to do. I shall check with him this week and see if I can begin taking it prontoGood advice is always found here.
