Serious question

I was planning on getting surgically castrated when I was done with a one year trial of chemical castration. (assuming nothing goes wrong) I will be done with my trial on April 23rd of 2019. I know that I need to start saving money now if I am going to be able to afford it. Should I start researching and contacting surgeons now also? I have 6 months left to go in the trial. I have no idea how far out they book these things.

Never too soon to research, and learn which surgeon meets your needs and what the requirements are for it to be done.

Careful how you choose, so as to be happy with the result.

Ivan Iguilar had 2 dates for orchiectomy and scrotal removal the same month I contacted them, and a couple the next month. I decided to reserve a place first quarter of next year with a 10% deposit.

If you are in the USA, Marc Arnkoff is your only option without a lot of messing around with shrinks and such, last I heard his fee was $3000.00 and he does not take credit cards. He is the one who did my Orchiectomy.

I had a months long discussion going on with Dr Aguilar and I would not go down there to Mexico on a bet. While I believe he is actually a Pediatric Urologist, there is only ONE review I could find online about his job performance and end result. It was REALLY BAD.

He's also opened another new website with a different name. I had all sorts of issues with the price changing as we got into the who gets paid when and the prices kept changing. I refused to give him a deposit without a receipt which he refused to provide. You will rarely speak with him if at all, everyone you'll talk with is an office person with no medical training, the men will identify themselves as "Ivan".

Be careful......

In February Dr. Arnkoff quoted me $3500 and at the start of this May he said he could schedule in June.

I am in the same state as you and had no problem getting letters and PCP referrals in the span of a few weeks. Denver Health claimed a 6 month wait for orchiectomy when I was in contact with them, which was too much for me so I went out of state to Dr. Sara Spettel. I was able to see Dr. Spettel within a week and my surgery date was scheduled 3 weeks out. Since the psychologist I saw also accepted my insurance my route only entailed a trip to Portland, a $135 surgeon's fee, and $600 hospital fee. The $600 hospital fee was waived by the hospital's charity board since I was low income and on Medicaid.

If you want any further information, feel free to PM me.

There are safe, low cost surgical options in Mexico on the border. Anyone interested can PM me.

I have also found what seems a satisfactory english-speaking solution for such things in Tijuana and elsewhere in Mexico. The cost was most reasonable and the practitioner was a previous colleague of Marci Bowers. PM if interested.
