I have been researching side effects and high blood pressure and diabetes keep coming up in medical info, but it's not something I really see mentioned on here. As I have been struggling with chemical c someone told me to "pull on my big boy pants" and get it done, so trying to find the details and truths in the health implications. Thanks.

Well, having lost the nuts a good many years, and had periods on T, E and nothing, I've found that the nuts seem to have very little or nothing to do with my borderline raised blood pressure. The other influencing things that are well known, like diet, weight, exercise, stress.... seem true. I'm not diabetic, but there seems no discernable effect on my routine blood glucose -for me, not a problem.
Take advice of the doc, and have a sensible happy life. For me, at least, that would include no nuts and soon maybe nullo.
Time to decide, with good advice!

I don't think its the procedure itself that gives high blood pressure its what you do after.
I would have a look at the side effects of hormone replacement therapies.
Also have a look here as Kristoff wrote such a great article a while back.

Everyone reacts differently BTW.

Thanks for the reply. What I think I read on here, including your own story, is one of flux. Trying different things, T no T E. I have always been slim, and mostly healthy and physically active. I know my body is likely to change, but is hard to know what's most likely. Medical reaserchers and Drs warn of things that I just don't read on here. I have a date set, deposit paid, but plenty of time to change my mind. Mentally and emotionally I know what I want, but is it easier to manage those feelings and stay intact, or become a eunuch and manage my physical health. Being chemically castrated was such a great place for me emotionally and mentally, but the physical side effects ( I know those will be different with surgical, but the dilemma is the same.) proved too difficult to manage. Easy to stop the medication and reset. Sorry to ramble, just a big decision.

What I have found is that a lot of current information on castration has been poorly researched and is often incorrect. Consider that most castrated men studied in medical research are advanced in age and many have unrelated health issues. It's doubtful younger and middle aged healthy men who are castrated, voluntarily or not, make up a significant group for medical studies.
From my personal experience (castrated two years ago) my blood pressure and blood glucose levels have remained virtually unchanged. However, consider I a mid aged, healthy and active. Also, as is often stated here, everyone reacts differently to castration.
