Double orchiectomy 3 months ago.

Due to medical issues not related to cancer or psychological reasons, and after a period of observation and evaluation, testing and re-testing, my urologist finally removed both my testicles which had been giving me quite a bit of pain for some time.
They were removed via an incision in the scrotum, which took about a month to heal.
At this time there is only a small amount of tenderness.
The pathology report indicated both testicles were "infarcted".
Specific reason unknown, but ostensibly due to lack of blood flowing through them.
Four years prior to this my regular physician detected low testosterone and had prescribed Androgel.
Now I am wondering:
What was your post op experience?
If you used Androgel before and/or after castration what was your experience?
