Hello group....

I have been reading this forum for over a year now and have finally signed up to post.

I am sorry that I have not contributed before, but I thank all of you for your information and support.

Some of you may know me from the Yahoo groups, but i will post a short intro here.

I am a 42 yr old born male, married with one child. I identify as being a transexuall and in a perfect world i would be persuing SRS ASAP. However family and employment concerns prevent that from happening.

FOr the past 2 years I have been using estrogen therapy to feel more "comfortable" with myself.

What i have learned is that i realy like the lowered sex drive and reduced levels of testosterone that I have now.

I know now that I need to remove the testosterone from my system completley. I may or may not one day complete SRS.... but I also know that I can NEVER EVER go back to the testosterone poisoning that I lived with for 40 years.

I am constantly seeking a way to get safe / painless castration. I have been in touch with

Dr. Spector in the past, but his age worried me.

I have not contacted Dr. Kimmel as yet, but I am hoping for the day that I can make a trip to Philly.

I do not rule out a "cutter" or even some sort of "scene" to get the job done... I just can not bare much pain.

I know that one day soon I will accomplish my goals to remove my testitcles... just dont' know how to do it safely and painlessly just yet.

ALso.. my wife is aware of my Ts 'ity... and my

desires for castration... we are working thru all this one step at a time.. so far she has been wonderful and supportive.. but each and every day I wake up knowing that I am less and less the "man" that she thought that I was when she married me.

I am greatful for all the inormation that I have recieved from this forum. I hope to be a more active member from now on.

Welcome, and I hope the day comes when you can make that visit to Dr. Kimmel. He is a trained Urologist who has worked on several of us. Note, it is better to contact Dr. Kimmel directly, bypassing Dr. Spector.

I too identify myself as being a transexual. Although there are a few TS people that are members here, I think we would all share a common problem, we need to remove that "male' aggresion and labido we have lived with our whole lives. We, as transexuals though, need to go farther than just castration. You will find that this is a great place for help and information. I wish you well on your endevoures and hope you attain what you seek.

I understand not wanting testosterone poising .But i have never thought of it that way but it sure fits the discreptionvery well.I have been on depo provera for four monthes now and my wife is also very understanding. Infact she says since i went on birthcontrol she now has the men she has always wanted

Do you take Depo-Provera once a month or once every 3 months?

Yes, I do remember seeing you in the Yahoo groups.

I do hope that you can obtain your orchiectomy soon. That was the very first thing I did back in 1999, and I just loved the serenity that I felt from getting rid of the testosterone.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to relieve my gender conflict, and I am now preparing for what I predict will be a stormy transition in the next year.

Spector no longer does surgeries, so Spector's age should no longer be a factor. I've never met Dr. Kimmel, but I do hear good things about him and I imagine you would receive a safe procedure from him.

I,too can COMPLETELY identify with your situation. Because of family situation,and my job situation,I can't (sadly )go all the way to SRS,but I did have to find a way to get rid of ALL the evil testosterone in my body.

I took premarin for about 2 years,but had to quit due to finances,and the ever-increasing pressure from the psych doc to go all the way and inform my family of my situation.

Welp..I finally met a guy who was nice enough to make me a eunuch,and went to my doctor to be on HRT afterwards,and I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!:)

Since my castration and taking premarin,my body it seems like it remembered,and has become more and more feminine every day. Although I am straight and prefer women,I don't really care if I meet one or not. It'd be nice,but my body is so different now,smoother,hairless skin, ever growing and tender breasts,my hair is kinda(maybe it's me though:)growing thicker,I'm so happy I could cry. Speaking of which...

Definitly one of the main things you'll notice (at least for me) is you'll become more sensitive,practically crying at every commercial. But fear not,if you want to become more feminine,it's worth every drop!

I had a girlfriend when this was going on (sorta of,we were in the "talking phase"),but when she noticed I was getting more and more feminine,she backed off,and she broke up with me when she found out the "price" of my surgery and realized I'd never be the "man" she'd always wanted. So I hope everything goes beyond great for you and your wife,and wish you nothing but the best. I definitly recommend going for it,I know I'm much happier.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my intro...

I have avoided posting indiviual replies to everyone because I do not want to turn this into another TS forum. I like that this forum is dedicated to castration and even though there are a number of us here with TS feelings, we keep the discusstion focused.

That said to Christina, Sherry, Noneboy and the others here who identify as TS... I am in your heads as you are in mine. I have been on estrogen for over two years first premarin and then estrace and I feel that I have at least a small idea of what lowered testosterone feels like. I always crided at commertials so that is no big change

I do realize that total removal of T will have an even greater effect that just lowering / blocking with Estrogen.. but I think I am ready for that.

Back to the subject ....

Having made up my mind that this is what I want, I am here to commiserate with everyone else that it is just so darn hard to accomplish.

Yes I know about Dr. Kimmel, and the $2000 he charges is not out of the question. But alas he is far from home. If he were in my town I would have been there already.. I guess I am affraid of being alone in a far away city, going thru something this major.

The best case would be a local urologist who would do the procedure in his office. Lacking that and experianced cutter from the medical proffestion... or a vet. surgical nurse etc. would be prefered over a trip to Philly.

Enough for now... thanks to all of you for listening... I am biding my time... looking for any excuse to "just do it"..

Both of those options are good. Many of my TS friends have obtained referrals from their psychologists and have had their castrations done by local urologists. Others have gone to Barham:

who has cut quite a number of pre-op TS women, but requires a letter from a pshrink and six months of estrogen use, or Spector/Kimmel, who do castrations on demand.

I had thought about going to Spector for years, but it wasn't until I re-started HRT that I was calm enough to do so. I contacted Dr. Spector, we set it all up, and I went. The day of my surgery was one of the happiest in my life, and it was because I "just did it."

I hope that all works out just great for you, too.
