Willpower! A healthy diet and a healthier mindset is a good start. Relying on a supplement to improve drive and energy involves logic that is inherently flawed. Motivation is a key factor. Waiting for external forces to solve your problem for you is being lazy. And doing so teaches you to keep being lazy.

That said, I think Vitamin D & B-vitamins are what you're looking for. I had to look for fairly low doses of those because they gave me headaches and anxiety, and kept me up all night. Things that keep your digestive system busy can also keep you awake and focused, like a big bowl of plain air-popped popcorn or a big can of garbanzo beans. It may also be a good idea to make sure you're getting enough copper and Omega-3 fats from foods.

Along with a healthy diet, the best energy supplement is simply expending energy. The more you are active the more your body craves activity. It does not have to be a psycho workout, but walking three times a week and some weight bearing exercises will generally suffice to keep your energy levels normal for your age. I take a multi vitamin as well as Niacin, but really I'm not that sold on the benefits of either. What I have proven is that when I get out and walk frequently I sleep better, eat better and have more energy and mental focus.
