Permanent Impotence

Well... I have tried chemical castration (Androcur) for about 3 months. A while before I knew that I had cancer. Took Finasteride for about 6 months and then had a radical prostatectomy. It has been 10 months now and I went back to the Dr. yesterday and he said that he had to take so much in order to get it all, that he feels that he had cut the nerves to get an erection. I am lucky that I am not incontinent. So, it seems that I am gonna get the shrinkage that I am after even without meds. It all kinda worked out. I still want to shrink my nuts too so I will probably still take Procur. I do have a question, I have read posts where folks had taken female hormones and their penis had shrank more. Does the affect of the hormones in addition to shrinkage from the lack of erections shrink it more? If so, why? While taking procur, a persons estrogen level will go up, right? So ultimately this is a happy thread. Still cancer free as far as I know, I am not pissing on myself and I will get to see how far this sucker is gonna shrink up.

When starting the finasteride, I was about 6.5 inches. I can stretch my penis out to about 5 inches now. From what I have read, the most shrinkage happens within the first year and a half. I am eager to see what happens.

Hey @bp301234,

Glad the prostate cancer is gone. Also glad that the 4 month (if I did the math correctly) surgical followup looks good. How have the tumor markers changed? Hopefully PSA and the other markers are back to normal.

I tried to look up "procur" as a medication and it doesn't show up on the google machine.

You might get your doctor to prescribe chem castration or physical castration if you are worried about spreading prostate cancer. Even if you are not worried about it spreading you could tell him you want to be extra safe.

Thanks TopManFL, I am still waiting for the results, a nurse calls. And it has been 10 months since my surgery. The site that I get meds from is always out of stock for Androcur and are selling Procur...

On low-T for about a year, mine has lost about an inch, from 6" to 4 3/4". That's the same regardless of whether I measure stretched length or use Cialis to gain a full erection. I went through periods where I wanted either a larger or smaller penis. Suppressing T showed me that both desires were fantasies that depended on T. Now I don't care at all, don't even think about it.

You lost two inches due to the prostatectomy. When your prostate was removed it also took away about two inches of your urethra that passed thru the prostate. The surgeon cuts above and below the prostate, then takes the end of your urethra and sutures it to the bladder neck, usually pulling the bladder down to reach the shortened urethra. That is why you had a Foley catheter for a week or two after surgery, so the urethra would heal where it was sutured to the bladder neck.

Also realize that you will never ejaculate again, though you can still experience an orgasm. It is different from what you've had all your life since puberty. I called it a "pelvic" orgasm. You still feel a sense of tension relief but no semen. You may leak some urine though I forget the name for that. Best to pee before sex.

Similar situation with the prostatectomy here. Yep it does make your dick shorter but what happens is the bladder neck finds that empty space where your prostate was.

I haven't had anything that resembles an erection since the procedure 4 months ago so not too sure if they will ever return.

Being in my early 60s I'm not too sure if too much nerve sparing went on anyway.

For me I have learned to orgasm with a limp dick and play with myself a lot more since the procedure, safe in the knowledge it won't end in a sticky mess 😄

Bladder leak has been pretty minimal although I do wear a pad in the gym, this is more for self confidence than catching pee but there are certain exercises where you need it. This is a continuously improving picture.

In fact I totally love my limp dick now.

Hopefully the cancer has been sorted, It was stage 2 and localised to the prostate, a recent blood draw showed a zero (>0.03) PSA so fingers and toes crossed.

I have undergone radical prostatectomy a year ago and since then I have been unable to have erections. I have already gotten used to it! Regarding your PSA you should only worry if it reaches the value of 0.2. In fact I would love to end up being a nullo but in Spain that is very complicated.
