Punjab woman castrates husband for having an extramarital affair

CHANDIGARH: A woman castrated her husband for allegedly having an extramarital affair and then disposed the husband’s genitals in a toilet.

A 40-year-old Azad Singh, a resident of Joginder Nagar in Jalandhar who works as assistant manager in a bank was seriously injured and was fighting for his life in a local private hospital as his wife Sukhwant Kaur who is in late thirties cut off his genitals last night when Singh was sleeping. He was taken to a hospital as he was bleeding profusely and his condition was serious said sources.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Central) of Jalandhar Satinder Kumar said that Kaur doubted that her husband had an illicit relations with some other woman. "The woman first hit her husband with a rod when he was sleeping which left him unconscious. Thereafter she chopped off his private parts with a knife and then disposed them in a toilet.’’

"We will be recording the statements of all the family members, meanwhile the accused has confessed to her crime that she has chopped of genitals of her husband and we will also been investigating the allegation that Singh had an affair or not,’’ he said.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Kaur who is housewife on the complaint of her father-in-law and she has been arrested. The couple have two sons from their marriage.
