Hello all. I have been a member here for over 10 years (although my profile says I join in 2013) I have finally decided that the time is right. I placed an order for Procur (Cyproterone) and Genox (Tamoxifen). I will be documenting my transition to a Eunuch on tumblr if anyone care to follow me. I could definitely use the support and advice. Thank you all.

Pills arrived and the first dose is down the hatch. How long will it take to start feeling the effects?

Depends on the person as we all react a bit differently to any medication. In my case, I followed the suggested regimen of 50 mg a day for three weeks and basically felt no change. I then upped the dose to 50 mg twice a day and by the fourth week I was definitely noticing a difference. Take it easy with increasing or decreasing dosages per the information contained with the meds. One of the most scary side effects is shortness of breath and I did not get that until I went to the 100 mg a day. It's a listed side effect but it's pretty unnerving when you experience it if you do, not all individuals will. Just be aware if it happens to you and it will pass with a bit of time.

I was advised to take Genox (Tamoxifen) 20mg to prevent breast growth. After looking over the factoids for this drug I'm a bit concerned. If my choice is to take it or not (as in at this point I can't afford to get a different medication) should I really be taking it? Should I hold off an taking it until I get symptoms of breasts growth?

What are the things that concern you about Tamoxifen?

I read that breast growth once it starts, is irreversible, so I'm stopping it before it starts.

I don't remember what I read that was freaking me out. Probably the severe mood swings and hair loss. But then I read an article that was specifically about taking Tamoxifen with chemical castration drugs to prevent breast growth and it filled me with hope. Interestingly it stated that there was no significant difference between 20mg and 10mg but that wasn't what the trial was focused on.

I wouldn't worry about taking the Tamoxifen, or start until you have some reason to do so down the road. I did not get the breast growth until I started upping the dosage of Cyproterone to try and get to castrate T levels. Trust me, if you start getting breast buds, those puppies hurt! Even my T-shirts rubbing across my nipples hurt. IIRC, I took the 20mg tab size tablets.
