To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum

Id like some opinions, especially from someone who chose to remove their scrotum along with their testicles.
I had a simple bilateral orchiectomy, leaving two barely palatable little cord stumps and an empty scrotum. Although I believed the scrotum would eventually shrink, after a year it usually hangs as long and loose as when there were resident balls within. Anyone viewing my personal blog has seen my generous ball sack.
My problem lies in the fact that without the balls the excess skin tends to find its way between my legs, often chafing and irritating. Ive seen a number of photos of sackless transsexuals and must say I like the look. The wife was ambivalent when shown.
A quick search of the internet located a nearby surgeon serving the trans community who offers separate scrotal reduction or removal at a reasonable price (of course insurance would not cover a non-necessary surgery). Broaching the option to my wife, she just shrugged and said: whatever feels better for you.
So heres my dilemma. Naked, a cursory glance at my junk would seldom reveal anything was amiss. This is only relevant to say .. showering at the gym or strolling down a clothing optional beach in the buff. Its not that I would be ashamed or embarrassed to expose my castration at a nude beach, but it might cause some discomfort to my wife that shes reluctant to admit. Now we have visited nude beaches before (one just last year after I was castrated and not a single glance), and plan future visits as well. Alternately, a smooth look and feel under my dick would be both comfortable and, at least to me, aesthetically pleasing.
So who has gone for the scrotum-less look (and comfort) over leaving the sack intact? All opinions are welcome.
