Taste and Smell

I’ve been taking Androcur and Tamoxifen for a little over a week now, and I’m noticing a change to my sense of smell. I’m particularly sensitive to the smell of other people, but I’m also noticing an all round improvement.

Also my sense of taste has improved too (and that doesn’t mean that I no longer listen to Abba!). I had some Heinz tomato soup for lunch today, and it tasted just how I remembered it from childhood. I honestly thought that they’d changed the recipe..!

Has anyone else noticed this happening?

Oh the lack of T and the senses come alive. Yes your sense of smell is more acute and smell is closely linked to taste. I love the scents of spring with flowering trees and budding flowers. Of course my neighbors cooking is horrific so a good sense of smell can be a double edge sword. Wait until the emotions kick in due to the lack of T. Things are funnier and sadder. Welcome to the more intense no T world. I have enjoyed it all for 20 years.

Oh it is, and I’m loving it! But I’m getting the bad smells too…

The other day I was in my local shop, and one of the lads who works there walked past me (early twenties, very cute). My god did he stink! Not only could I smell him as he walked past me, I could smell where he’d been, and it put me right off my dinner. He looks a fairly clean sort and I’ve never noticed anything before, but he doesn’t seem quite so attractive now..!
