"The product lasts for about six months and temporarily blocks the reproductive hormone in dogs, controlling aggressive or anti-social behaviour and preventing the need for painful surgical castration."
It's designed for dogs. I wonder if it will work on humans?

This sounds like simple anti-androgens, similar to what a lot of people on the board are already taking. It is basically chemical castration for animals.
It would be much more interesting if it were permanent. Still waiting for Gonex!

Although something lasting for 6 months is better than what we have now.

That's not true. You can get chemical castration implants that work up to 12 months.

This certainly does NOT seem like a practical alternative to Depo-Provera. This would not be easy to self-administer & being cut open to both implant & remove would not be anything to look forward to.

Well, the link I posted I did not read thoroughly, but I am pretty sure there are implants for Lupron and such that are injectible ... just tiny little capsules that are inserted under the skin. The advantage is that they release over time, rather than a normal injection that creates a volatile cycle of hormones.

There is Depo-Lupron, a suspension, injected IM. I don't know where to get it or how much it costs. There is also Zoladex, an implant, implanted in the fat over the abdomen, which costs $900 per dose. BTW, any drug with "Depo" in front of it is a suspension.
