I have a date!

December 16th with Dr. Arnkoff.

I can't believe it - the arrangements are coming together!

Congratulations! Will you be keeping a blog of your experience? Your thoughts and moods before and after this life changing surgery?

Congrats ! Another man who enjoys being a man and plans to stay on Testosterone to stay a man after your balls are gone. Are you getting castrated for medical reasons or by free choice ? Good luck with your surgery. Let all the men on here know how it goes for you.

Thanks all for the good wishes. I thought it might be more efficient to answer all queries in a single response, so here goes:

Origen22: I hadn't thought about blog posting(s), but I guess I could - I might. I appreciate the suggestion to do so, and I have benefited from others postings - this may be a way for me to contribute back to the community, and provide some first-hand information.

nutless2b: thank you for the hopes for a speedy recovery, and birthday wishes. TBH, I have reservations about the 'knife' and travelling back afterwards, plus recovery and possible complications.

cutnbulls2ox: free choice. I fully identify as a male, and will continue to do so. See comments above - I may blog or may not, but I will provide some sort of a status update, at least, at some point.

Throwing this request out there - I welcome any feedback from those who have first-hand experience with Dr. A. I am surgery-phobic, and have concerns about potential post-surgery complications. Any info would be welcome.

Hi shydudexx, thanks for sharing your news. Congratulations. i am new to the site, so forgive me if i am asking the obvious. I see Dr.A is in MI. I am in Chicago so not too far. I see his site says you may or may not require a referral for his services. Do you need a psychiatric Dr. to refer you to him, or will he see you just out of the blue privately? What are the requirements for him to consider castration? I am high risk for PC, but no signs yet, but a genuine concern, I watched my Dad die from it. Anyway, just wondering what the steps are to get started along the path.

Again, Congratulations!

So, i have found a lot more info about Dr. A. Sounds as though he is happy with self informed consent, which is great. Thanks again for posting. :)

Thank you Mike for your kind words.

I have chatted with Dr. A. on the phone, and as you said, it appears he is OK with informed consent. Two months to go - we have a chat scheduled for Mid-November, where hopefully arrangements will be more firmed-up.

Yes I can confirm that. Dr. A did my orchiectomy a couple years ago, and I didn't need any letters.
