Hormones and sexuality
As I travel further down this road I am finding new things that make me ask some questions. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in October to discuss HRT to achieve some specific goals I have.
My initial goals were to eliminate erections, and lower my sex drive. However, I have been reading some people's experiences with hormones that eliminate erections, and it sounds like their sex drive was eliminated too. The more I think about what I really want and don't want, the more I am convinced I don't want my sex drive completely eliminated.
The closest I can describe what I really want is a sex drive and sexuality closer to that of a woman. I don't want to have erections, I don't want an overbearing sex drive like have now but would like to still desire and enjoy physical intimacy with my wife (minus anything involving my penis being erect or penetrating her).
But, I don't consider myself a trans woman and really don't desire feminization. I don't know if what I hope for is achievable without at least some feminization.
Can anyone comment or share experiences that would help me understand what is achievable and what is not?

Looks like what you need is to have control over your sex drive; that you can "switch " it on & off as is convenient; weakening it to a level where you have control, without killing it...

Can that be achieved while eliminating erections?

not sure, intact sex drive means also having erection capability. Is there a reason you want to get rid off erections, yet want to retain sex drive ( to be frustrated ? )
Just wondering...?

I have long hated having erections, it's one of the main reasons I would like to try chemical castration. However, I do enjoy kissing, caressing, and touching my wife. I guess I am afraid that if I had no sex drive I wouldn't even think about doing those things anymore. And I'm not sure how I would feel if that were no longer something I found desirable. I guess I'm afraid that removing my sex drive entirely would make for a very boring life.

Talk to your doctor about beta blockers. They are famous for causing erectile dysfunction. I'd recommend you only take them if prescribed. Frequently beta blockers are used to treat high blood pressure. Since erections require blood flow ... you get the point.

Maybe the question I need to ask is whether the people on here who are castrated chemically still want to do those things.

Re: Hormones and sexuality
Even being surgically castrated I actually went more into that because I am not as focused on self performance.

So, if I enjoy those things before castration, do you think I would still have a desire to enjoy it castrated? Would it still cross my mind to want to do those things?

They are typically used to treat patients with fast heart rates. If you are typically in the range of 60-70 BPM you would not want to take them. If your heart rate is consistently 90-higher a beta blocker would be beneficial. They are also given to patients following a heart attack.
