I've been actively searching for this story for a few months, and figured it was time to ask for help. I'm not sure if it was written by Pueros, but it reads in a similar style. It's about a very eager young fellow who is in medieval or renaissance Spain/France. The crew of a ship he is on encourages him to become a "capon" (castrated), and he eventually comes to work for a family, where he has a crush on the daughter. I distinctly remember one scene where the merchant that sold him, the ship's Captain, and the cutter are all teasing him, prodding him to thank the merchant for having him snipped.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have found that sometimes you have to look for it by adding the word "the" to the title. Don't know if that will help you find it but it usually works for me.
