Coricidin- OTC medication may cause erectile dysfunction
Being the avid researcher I am, I stumbled across this product that I actually got on closeout for a 25 cents a box at a local convenience store. ( I had bought it for my dad, who has high blood pressure, and have to be careful what kind of cold meds I get him). I wanted to check out the active ingredient in it to make sure that he can take it. With his age, I am very cautious as to his health.
So.. this is what I found:
Wiki : In the drug Coricidin, chlorphenamine is combined with the cough suppressant dextromethorphan ( under chlorphenamine).
In addition to being a histamine H1 receptor (HRH1) antagonist, chlorphenamine has been shown to work as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor or SNRI.[3] A similar antihistamine, brompheniramine, led to the discovery of the SSRI zimelidine. Limited clinical evidence shows that it is comparable to several antidepressant medications in its ability to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin and also norepinephrine (noradrenaline).[4]
This *should* work the same as that Endronax, that some have mentioned. perhaps not as fast, nor as strong. but being a reuptake inhibitor of norepinephrine, it may help shrink like Endronax?
More from wiki particularly about Coricidin:
Medicinal use
Coricidin is used to alleviate coughs and includes chlorpheniramine for people with high blood pressure. Other versions of Coricidin are used to reduce fever or as an expectorant. Side effects include diarrhea and hallucination, and long-term use can result in psychosis and erectile dysfunction.[1][2]
Caution should be used taking this regarding the hallucination and psychosis bit..
Further research needed.

Unless they've changed the formulation of Coricidin, it doesn't do much.
I used to take it back in the late 80's, until it eventually stopped doing what it was supposed to do.
This was long before the days of EA and Internet, and I never noticed a thing with it.
