Passengers (2016)
This is about a huge spaceship on a 120 year voyage to another planet being colonized by earth. There are 5200+ passengers and lots of planet building supplies.
A giant meteor storm damages the ship, creating a slow cascade of increasing malfunctions. One passenger (Chris Pratt) awakes about 80 years before the ship lands on the new planet. His only companion is a robotic bartender (Michael Sheen). After a year of being alone, he wakes up a second passenger (Jennifer Lawrence) and they live OK for a year, fall in love, and do all sorts of boring things, until she finds out that she didn't wake as a malfunction. She's really pissed off at him. I mean really pissed off.
That doesn't last long because the spaceship is having more and more breakdowns and malfunctions from that meteor crash.
A third passenger appears, an Engineer and with access to the bridge and the spaceship's control functions, the figure out what the problem is. The Engineer dies before he can fix the troubles. So the first two awake passengers must fix the malfunctioning fusion reactor before it blows the ship apart and kills everyone.
The opening third of the movie in interesting. The love affair in the middle is boring. The second half when they repair the ship and save the spaceship s exciting. That's it.
It a nice sic-fi picture. Nothing grandly special. It has a good last half.

Re: Passengers (2016)
I thought it was terribly boring. I will say I thought the pool scene was fantastic. Being trapped in the water the way she was.
