That's Dr Stephen Strange to you, peasants...
That was undeserved.
Dr Strange is part of the Marvel Universe. He is the different one. He's not superpowered or mutant or alien or a mythological god.
Dr Stephen Strange is an arrogant neurosurgeon, who thanks to a car accident, loses fine control of his hands to much bone, nerve and muscle damage. His search for a cure leads him to Kathmandu and The Supreme Sorcerer (Tilda Swinton) and several of her deputies (one of whom is Idris Elba)... There he learns the mystic arts. But he is a boob and an arrogant one at that. So he has to work that out.
Unfortunately, all is not good with the world. A previous student of the Supreme Sorcerer has gone bad and has stolen the spell to contact a being in the Dark Dimension who wants earth. This means death to everyone and everything and immortal life to his followers.
Watch this movie on the largest screen you can beg, borrow or even pay off your friend with a big TV. The bigger the better. AS the characters start to change reality with magic, it's a giant kaleidoscopic fun festival that reminds one of an MC Escher painting. It is the best visual trip onscreen since 2001.
I enjoyed the movie. The growth of Stephen Strange from a total egotistical jerk to a person is done well. He's a doctor who has taken the Hippocratic Oath and holds to it.
The story doesn't have lots of yak-yak exposition to mess with the action. It's exotic to watch. There is nothing like it in the "superhero" world and it's altogether different magic than the Harry Potter world.
Again, I had fun watching this movie. As of this writing, I watched it three times so far. Since I have it for three days, I suspect I'll have it on the TV another four times.
Things to watch for:
The Cloak of Levitation has a good part.
The Eye of Agamotto is one of the Marvel Infinity stones. When this fact revealed in the movie, it is jarring and out of place.
Tilda Swinton has some great action sequences and towards the end of the movie, a truly touching scene.

Re: DR Strange
Which movie in 2001 are you referring to? I thought Inception was equally visually stunning.
This is one of my favorites of the Marvel universe. Its also by far my favorite performance from Cumberbatch.
I would note to other that there are two teaser clips during the end credits not just the one.

Re: DR Strange
INCEPTION bored me but that's just me.
2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY is the movie I referred to. My generation saw it in theaters and large halls (College) stoned. It was the "trip" movie
and yes, there are two teasers:
The first teaser sets up Dr Strange and Thor for the movie about Ragnarok. I just finished Neil Gaiman's retelling of the Norse Mythologies and whatever THOR: RAGNAROK will be isn't the myth.
The second treaser sets up the DR STRANGE #2 movie... which is about Mordu's or Mordo's rebellion against Wizards.
