Story Idea

Hello everyone,

I've been reading African history lately and couldn't help but notice no one has written a story about Idi Amin. The amount of historical information is plenty, and that tied in with the vivid imagery his atrocities portrayed, would make for a very fun-to-read story. Unfortunately, I'm not a good writer, so maybe someone on here would have better luck writing it.

The Plot: I was thinking of a story that begins in 1970s Uganda, through the eyes of a soldier that was captured along with his 6-8 other comrades in that Ugandan coup that happened. Then the events could unfold with each man being interrogated alone by Idi Amin's henchmen to reveal intelligence secrets, and culminating in a "prisoner's dilemma" of not knowing if your own comrade gave up information on you, and the resulting torture of those that didn't divulge any secrets.

The torture in the story would consist of several instances of penis amputation with a large "panga" (machete), which was common practice by Idi Amin. Maybe a scene where those that didn't say a word got lined up naked and only the man with the smallest penis of the group got to keep his organ, with the rest of the "well endowed" men having their penises cut off with the panga. Also, I had read somewhere before that he would crush a prisoner's testicles with a sledgehammer to see if "big eggs were harder to break." This would be an interesting castration element in the story.

The story could then end with the one man that gave up the information on his comrades walking away free with the rest left to succumb to their injuries, or it could end in a twist where the opposite happens.

Anyways, I think it would make for a compelling story. A fiction story, but with some truth behind it, which if you ask me, makes it an even more of a gripping account to read!
