HORNS (2013)
Ig Perrish wakes from a drunken stupor one morning after being rejected by love of his life the night before to be arrested for murdering his lover. He can't remember most of the night before. Released OR, he is a burden to all his friends and the small town hates him. They aren't shy about showing their hate.
After another particularly bad drunken night where he does ugly, hateful things at the town's memorial, he starts to grow horns. He discovers people start revealing their deepest and ugliest desires. the power of the horns grows and he can read their minds and find out what they did the night of the murder, and eventually give them orders.
The solution to the murder involves five friends who has known each other growing up. The romance portion of the story is told in flashbacks. Eventually, the killer is revealed and the true power of the HORNS becomes apparent.
David Morse is particularly brilliant as the dead girls father.
You will remember this film as Daniel Redcliffe's second movie after the Harry Potter franchise finished. He does a good job in this movie.
The story is from a book of the same name by Joe Hill who is the son of Stephen King. It is a horror story rarely told as effectively.
