can anyone recommend a good service for anonymous email?

Sorry it took so long, but this never showed up in the moderation queue. I found it by accident.

Hushmail is supposed to be really good, but not to get political, I don't think any of them are truly anonymous.

I've signed up for Protonmail, for the use of encrypted, anonymous mail. They also offer a webmail portal via TOR, if you're especially paranoid.

This is almost a month old but I just noticed it now. What does "anonymous email" actually mean. If it means using encryption to protect personal information like financial and medical records rather than unprotected communications, no problem. But if it's the same as sending an anonymous letter through the mail or a newspaper that regularly publishes unsigned comments like one of our local papers, there's just one word to describe it, cowardly and those who hide behind anonymity deserve no respect or attention. Just sayin'....
