Pontiac Aztek

Son is a gear head. We were just rolling down the freeway and I see this car coming down the onramp ahead. It was a Pontiac Aztek. The first I have seen in a long time. You know those hot rod paint jobs with flames, etc. The guy had his Aztek with a custom paint job like that and a light bar across the roof. Son and I must have spent the next 50 miles figuring out all the ways we could sex up an Aztek. The possibilities really expand your consciousness. I was trying to think of a different car which would be worth it to hot up: a VW van powered by a Pratt & Whitney J58 jet powerplant, a JATO assisted Yugo? Any suggestions?
(sorry-cannot edit the k in Pontiac. Tried.)

Fixed.
I once read an article where the unveiling of the Aztec resulted in a shocked silence, then overall disgust. It was nothing like the plans.
I once knew a gearhead who stuffed a 302 down into a 70-something Pinto. It wasn't pretty. Almost as much of a debacle as the 79-82 Mustangs.

Strangely, the Aztek will likely be a future collectible car because of the design debacle.

Was that speed 220 KmH for half a kilometer? In the US it would be MPH for .25 miles, a Kilometer is .31 miles, so it would make sense as a metric equivalent.
If that is the case, for my American/English friends, that equates to a top speed of 137 MPH over .31 miles.

Just like the Corvair.
I had one. A friend had one.
Leaky seals and engine over heating was usual.
Yet somehow, the Corvair is a collectable regardless of safety.
Moi, I wish I could get a first generation Chevy II Nova.

Google says a kilometer is 0.621371 miles.
