Got the final bill for my orchiectomy

Got the final bill for my orchiectomy today. After the insurance and every thing I paid less than $10 for the labs, around $25 for the anesthesiologist and today's bill of $50.21 for the surgeon. Total cost was less than $100 so for that price, the lab got to keep my testicles and I got to go home without them. I think that was a pretty good deal.

I hope for a similar cost when I am surgically castrated around the new year!

Mine was done in the hospital as an outpatient so in and out on the same day. I did get a statement of charges (not a bill) from the hospital for $21K. Never got a bill or statement from the doctor, anesthesiologist or whoever else sends bills. Medicare and my supplemental coverage covered everything.

Medicare paid most of mine and supplemental paid more but my supplemental sucks. However my supplemental is through the retirees organization from my former employer and it's a trade off for a pretty low price compared to some other supplements. It still balances out in my favor.
