Post-Castration Urine Direction Problem

I had my orchiectomy 13 1/2 months ago, and have been on low dose estrogen since then. I've had a good amount of shrinkage (which I'm happy about), but that's causing an issue I hadn't anticipated. What's left of the penis attached to me is so short that even though I generally always sit to urinate, I can't always direct the stream downward. For a while, I was able to sort of tuck up against the toilet seat to direct downward, but now it's too short to reliably do that, even. Fairly often, the urine will manage to shoot out between the toilet seat and rim. Even worse, if I'm sitting on the toilet for other reasons, my effort to push tends to cause unexpected spurts of urine, with even less directional control.
I know that some have had body modifications to reroute their urethra opening, but I keep reading about all sorts of problems from those who go the DIY path for that. I'm going to have inversion surgery down the road, but I have to lose a bunch of weight before I can get that done. Surely I'm not the only one having this urinary problem? I'm nervous about trying to ask a urologist to do a reroute down low, which would solve the problem, since I don't know if that's even a normally performed surgery at all. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Take a good long look at female anatomy vs. where a "reroute down low" will be. I believe you will complicate the SRS portion of your modification if you do that. Best to just keep things where they are until you are ready for the full SRS.

L.T. is absolutely correct. No matter what method of GRS you have done, inversion or other, a reroute is going to cause major problems during surgery and might get you disqualified as a surgical candidate. Or, if not disqualified, cost you quite a bit extra.

You mention that you are too overweight to be candidate for SRS surgery, so I'm assuming you're fairly large. A penis can't really shrink to the point of not be able to direct urine except in the case where it is "buried" in the pubic fat *see

So basically the solution is to lose the weight and your penis will become more prominent again. However, that is easier said than done, especially since pubic fat is some of the last to go (especially if you're on estrogen). You may want to consider getting some pubic liposuction -- there are doctors that specialize in that. Just make sure with your SRS surgeon first that it won't interfere with future procedures. And do what you can to generally lose the weight. Sorry I know you were hoping for a quicker solution...

Talk to your urologist about getting a prescription for single use catheters. *Preferably the type that are prelubricated. Its not too difficult to use. You quickly get used to using them so don't freak out about them.

Catheters are so cheap to buy off Amazon or Ebay.

Due to BPH, I have to use a catheter. They are not a prescription item. You can buy them off the shelf at medical supply stores.
