Advice on Androcur

I finally made my decision to try a test run with Androcur. The order was placed today for 3 packs of 50 containing 50 mg tablets. Thee motivation is to lower libido and reduce physical capability and see if I can adjust to it. It should arrive in 10 days or so.

My plan is to start with 100 mg for 10 days and reduce to 50 mg. Can those familiar with Androcur give me some idea of what to expect and how long it will probably take for effects? How long before loss of erections? When does ejaculate dry up or get reduced noticeably? When does the libido diminish? Does penile an or testicular shrinkage occur anytime soon? Anything I should do differently.

Thanks

HI, you can find alle the answers in that forum, just try "search". It sound like good dosage you are planning to run, 1st effect you should notice after 3-4 weeks, the full one after 6 months but each person is different. Some side effects can occure too, high blood pressure, headache, hot flushes, night sweats, fatigue..

Good luck!

Well it has been a week since I placed my order for 3 50 unit packs of 50 mg Androcur and I am getting very excited to say the least. I am striving for impotence and a lower libido. They should arrive sometime next week. Needless to say I am getting excited. As i mentioned above I plan on taking 100 mg (2 x 50 mg) a day for 10 days and lowering to 50 mg daily for 3 months.

I realize patience is required, but would stepping up the initial dose speed the start of effects? Any suggestions from those with experience or knowledge of Androcur. Thanks in advance.

Real effects will start after 14 days and this time you should use the 100mg/day.

If you don't longer have a morningwood, it works perfect and you can cut the dose to 50mg. ;)

jojo22jj thanks. Would you guess that after 14 days should I still expect to be able to orgasm or will that ability be impaired by then? Any idea when the libido becomes affected?

I am looking forward to being free of my desires and ability as well and hope I can adjust to it. I suppose that is why I am testing the waters so to speak

After 14 days you will lose the desire to have real sex really fast, need to masturbate will slower get lower ;) and the ability to get an orgasm should not really be affected in the first time but over months could it be more and more difficult but you will no more have the desire to have one so really much.

You will bee more and more eunuch calm and all the sexual things are no more important for you.

Its wellness for mans soul... :D

jojo25jj thanks again. i really am trying to be patient for the effects. As i may have said, i wish to be free of the urges and desires to sexually aroused and masturbate. I want to pursue other activities and not be a slave to physical pleasure. I am so obsessed with visual stimulation and fantasizing. I cannot wait for the calming that is described as the eunuch calm!

Yes, i like the feeling without the sexual urges. :)

14 days you have to wait in any case! Be patient!

Before it is a up and down with no direction but after the relative accurate 14 days it will work perfect. :)

jojo, thank you again. I hope the Androcur arrives early this week and I will be patient. I guess I am filled with apprehension about how after all these years I might finally lose interest in sexual activities. The thought of having my physical ability to perform reduced or possibly eliminated after a short time just increases my anxiety to begin as soon as possible. I guess I cannot really know what it is like until I get there. It just seems like a fantasy at this point. Hopefully it will be a reality in 2-3 weeks.

When I started Androcur I just started off at 50mg per day and have stayed at the same dose since. Most people I know do the same thing - they start at 50mg/day and stay at it unless their testosterone levels dictate they need to change that. Some even drop it to 25mg after 6 months, which I am considering doing myself. I don't think it's necessary to start out at 100mg/day to "jump-start" the testosterone suppression, although do whatever you want. One benefit of starting out lower is that your 3 boxes will last 5 months and you'll be less likely to experience side effects at the start, although IMO Androcur really doesn't have any noticeable side effects, aside from what it does to your liver. Some people do report the sides though. A lower starting dose would lower the chances of that.

At 3 months of taking Androcur my testosterone was at 13 ng/dL (thoroughly nuked). That said I had been taking spironolactone previously, and started out with already nuked testosterone levels. What I felt upon starting Androcur was about two weeks worth of testosterone spike which slowly dwindled. My libido felt much higher, I was getting erections at the drop of a hat, often so hard they were painful, and I began to emit small amounts of semen again. It had been a while since I had any of that going on, so I had my fun with it. You will likely just feel like your normal self for the first two weeks, I would imagine.

Then after two weeks that testosterone spike just kept decreasing and I began feeling increasingly low test again. At around 2 months or so I felt about where I was at before I had quit taking spironolactone and switched. Libido was on par with back then, low but workable if needed/wanted, zero semen production, etc. However this kept going. By 3 months my libido was the lowest it's ever been. It's become much more difficult to get an erection or orgasm. Currently I can get about 50% of an erection, if that makes sense, and I basically can't orgasm. As far as I am concerned this stuff is kryptonite for the sex drive. YMMV though, who knows. Some people retain more of a sex drive than others on any anti-androgen.

Considering I started out with suppressed testosterone already, you could probably expect the Androcur to take longer to fully kick in than it did for me. Still, this stuff is pretty good at what it does. It might feel like it's taking forever or that it's doing nothing at the start, but just be patient and the effects will begin to roll in and become noticeable. As others have said, at 2-4 weeks you'll likely notice the beginning of the effects. How long it takes to reach full suppression after that point really just depends on your individual body, but 3-6 months is a good timeframe to expect to reach rock-bottom levels.

In regards to your shrinkage question: I've noticed some further shrinkage myself, and I already had a good deal of shrinkage from the spironolactone. The penis' shrinkage will depend on how often you use it/get it hard. The more you neglect it and prevent it from getting hard, the more likely it'll get smaller from not being used. I think by 6 months you would have noticeable shrinkage at least of your balls, but it could take perhaps years for everything to finish shrinking. I've been suppressing my testosterone since the start of 2014 and I'm still shrinking, it seems to be a rather slow process.
